That's one of the key questions for slot players. There's no single strategy for knowing how long to stay at a machine. I've seen people walk up to a machine and hit immediately. Others stay at a machine for a full roll of quarters and they never hit. Others will hit with a single roll of quarters. Probably, if the answer to that question was known, gambling would be a lot easier. I've read in some magazines, that, if you don't hit within the first 10 coins, than you might want to consider moving. But, then again, the next person who sits at that same machine might hit on their first coin. The machines are purely random. Bottom line, you should probably move on when you no longer feel comfortable with a machine.
