The state of Louisiana, who recently made the news with their arrest warrant for Peter Dicks, has issued a warning to online gambling companies and executives that they are actively pursuing additional arrest warrants, as many as 50 in fact. My understanding is that online gambling is specifically illegal in Louisiana according to state law, but that advertising an online gambling company IS legal. (I mention this because Casino City is located in Louisiana for that very reason.)

My guess is that the targets of these investigations are overseas companies who are actually taking bets, but I'm no lawyer or expert on legal issues. I'm just reporting what I've heard regarding this.
