Any One Else Despise HARRAH'S RENO?
I am so glad to find a forum like this so players can share their happy and sometime heartbreaking stories.
I've been gambling mainly in Northern/Southern CA Indian casinos, Reno/Tahoe, and Las Vegas. But only one casino I have grown to hate. Harrah's Reno has been turning into the worse place to play. Their machines are sooo tight and the comps are just not up to industry standards. I used to enjoy playing there even if I was losing because the dealers and employees are very nice and friendly. I noticed though within the last 2 years, things have gone sour. Employees are apathetic about their jobs and the slots are getting tighter than my belt after a buffet. Is anyone feeling the same thing about this place? If you're familiar with the Harrah's Total Rewards system, you usually get a good 1% of coin-in back in comps in the Vegas/Tahoe market. Ex: If I played $1000 into a machine, I would get approx. $10 in comps. NOT SO in Reno. My last trip, I had earned 3000 Base Rewards (that is $15,000 coin-in) in about 2 hours. At any other joint, I would have AT LEAST $100 in comps waiting. When I went to go check how much comped I earned, I was told $40 in comps. WHAT!!??!!?? I lost nearly $7000 on that trip, and I have $40 in comps? My host there even admitted that they are cutting down but I told him straight up, "I am not going to play here anymore unless they change the comping system." I have not been back there for over 6 months and I feel GREAT about it!
Thanks for listening.
