My wife and I went to Vegas for our Honeymoon almost 5 years ago. We make it a point to go back 2-3 times a year. I've played blackjack, even roulette...but slots are what we love (for whatever reason)
Good posts Shamus. I'll look out for the Cleopatra or actually pay attention to it this time around (I've seen them, never played them). Regarding the Wheel of Fortune machines, those used to be my favorite but lately they seem so tight regardless of what casino you're in. I would feel very safe in saying that the lower denominations are definately what the wheel lands on 9 times out of 10 when you get to spin. I've hit the 1000 once on a quarter machine in Caesar's (on my honeymoon, no less) and that's been about it for me. Tons of 25's, 40's etc. etc. My wife has hit a couple good one's, but she too agrees about them being tighter in our opinions.
Nickel Heaven in the Riviera is a ton of fun. Of course with the advent of paper tickets it takes away from the thrill, but hey, it's all good.
We're going to make it a point to check out the Sahara, Stratosphere and possibly Orleans this time around due to several websites showing statistics for favorable slots. Even the Palms maybe.
