I Know its a very pretty place, I have looked at it online before when checking out hotels for vegas trips. Whats the comps like? Do they have a shuttle to other casinos for free to downtown Vegas?I have always wanted to stay there, another friend I have here in AZ loves it, he is not a gamber, just loves the Pool and the service and the place itself;)

Hi Maxgirl!! Yes I do love Red Rock, it is such a beautiful well ran property with a great slot floor. Any game you want they pretty much have it. About their comps. We went there the first time Nov 2008 and stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. We brought $1500 total bankroll for my husband and I. When we got back home about 2 weeks later we received offers for comped rooms and that was all. We decided to go again in January for our anniversary and again we stayed 3 days 2 nights (that is customary for us) and again we brought the same amount for our bankroll. In Feb we received offers for comped rooms again and $75 free play for me and $50 for my husband.
Also worth noting, Red Rock has you charge all of your meals to your room and then they evaluate upon check out and comp it off depending on your play. We have never had to pay for a meal to this day. Now we are going in 12 days and are using the offer that I just spoke about above and we will charge our meals to the room and have our play evaluated I am sure we will not have to pay.

Red Rock has called me numerous times to find out how their service is, if there are any changes needed in our opinion having stayed there twice and they have called to personally invite us to some events. We are very impressed with Red Rock and all aspects of the casino/resort/employees etc.
When we go there is a couple of weeks I plan on doing some videotaping of the property and rooms to add to the normal gambling videos I make on You Tube. Also, check StationCasinos.com and click on their Boarding Pass link that should give you some information about their comps too. Good luck and if you go please let me know what you think! I would love to hear about it good or bad!!!

Also about the shuttle, yes they have a shuttle that goes to the Fashion Show Mall on the strip and it runs all day. When you go on the Stations website I believe there is an area there to read about their shuttle system!

well worth it for your rooms and food alone, when you add that up for a cost of a vacation, really 1,500 is not that bad at all, throw in the fact your doing something you really enjoy as well! definately checking them out for my next vegas trip.

Yes indeed! Just make sure not to be afraid to ask to have your play evaluated at checkout. Call down from the room before you check out and they will connect you to marketing and if they can adjust if off they will. That is the main thing with all casinos.....don't be afraid to ask for anything. Most of the time they don't just tell about things you have to ask and most of the time (in my experience) you shall receive!

Sounds good Deb. I might just give this place a try next time I am in Vegas. The MGM Mirage is currently teetering on bankruptcy -- although I'm not sure the players will see a difference if that happens. It sounds like Red Rock is a Station Casino? They seem to have pretty good payback percentages as well...?

Yes it is a Station Casino and they too are teetering or actual already have filed their BK. Internet posting say they were to file for BK in March. Boyd Casinos offered to buy them out leaving out a few of the higher end properties such as Red Rock, but Station refused their offer, not sure what the updated status is now. Let me know if you do go there I would like to hear your feedback.

will this affect me payout wise if i were to go in april?

I don't think so. I actually just got an email today from the slot operations manager there with a list of a whole bunch of new machines they just installed. It seems that if their BK were to actually be happening they wouldn't be adding things and would be "slowing" their roll a little bit. I will let you know how the slots seems to be when I get back. I seriously do not think they are going to gyp anyone on their comps or if anything they will probably be doing more promotions to boost their business.

Again, I will let you know if I see any evident BK changes while I am there. I am pretty good friends with one of the marketing guys and the slot director so I plan on picking their brains when we are there!

They have a shuttle service but only for guests staying at one of their properties. I checked because although I am staying at the Paris next month I thought it would be fun to check out the Red Rock.

oh yeah that is true it is for guests only. I think taking a cab would be expensive too because it is about 15 miles away. Hmmmm I would hate to see you miss out on Red Rock, it really is a great place and now that I have a new list of games, I see that they have some really neat new arrivals!

I know lots of people do not like driving with all the traffic ... but car rental for a week in Vegas is very reasonable ... and it makes it easier to visit Red Rock, Sam's Town, Rio, etc. All of the notable places off of the strip.

Alamo has good rates.

Yes if you are flying in from out of town I would highly recommend renting a car. The rates are fairly reasonable and worth it if you want to see a lot of different properties. The properties on the strip are deceiving. They look fairly close together but you will find that even though they may look that way, very few are. Try to use valet as much as possible, it will save you from a headache believe me. We ONLY valet, no matter where we go or how long we are staying.

By the way you can get some really great maps of LV and surrounding areas online.

As a city dweller I am used to using public transportation. I checked Las Vegas transportation site to see how onerous it would be to get from the Strip out to Red Rock. I am happy to see it ain't all that bad. It can take as little as an hour.

I will be out there in April for a few days. I plan to catch an early bus out to RR and spend a few hours.

This is the Las Vegas transport site. They have a handy trip planner that has you enter your starting and ending addresses and a step-by-step trip is planned for you, showing all connections, directions for walking to each connection, etc.

It may be I will take the public trans part of the way, and a taxi for an "affordable distance." :D
