 Tomorrow morning I an going to try a new style of casino. Here in Texas as you all know casinos are not allowed. Well the indians here opened a casino about ten years ago and were doing very well. Well the Texas goverment closed them down in 2002. Now they have a new wrinkle, its an entertainment club. You go in and sign up, you give them the money you want to play with and they put this amount on some thing like a players club card. You place this card in the machine and play the credits on the card. The card will some how maintain your credits (wins and loses). After you are done playing you take the card back to the counter, they read it and return the amount of credits to you in cash. They are supposed to have all types of slots and they are reported to be pretty loose. We will see, yes I am supposed to be working at the hospital tomorrow.:D

Man, government sure can think of a zillion ways to stop people from having fun. "Saving us from ourselves." I just wish all that energy and zeal would go to things to save us from THEIR excesses and lack of moral direction. Oh please!

If I remember correctly the tribe was from MS Cochotta?) and were not on legal property in TX. They were open for awhile while it drrraaaaaged through the courts. They'll be lucky if they get away w/this.

Texas has SCRATCH-OFFS and doesn't want any interference in the profitable business!

Listen to this!

Texas has had a number of $50 ticket games and they have been CLOSING them BEFORE the big prizes are even awarded! I noticed a couple with 2 of the 5 $5,000,000 having been awarded and 3 of 6 $1,000,000 ONLY having been awarded being closed! What's up with that?!

Texas needs to be investigated for fraud!

Check THIS out!

Notice it is closing soon! And THEN note the number of top prizes NOT AWARDED! FRAUD! SCAM! CHEATS!

I did'nt know the details, I thought they owned the land.

From 2003 American Casino Guide....."In 2002 TX had 3 NA casinos. However the state's AG brought legal action against 2 of them and was succesful in closing them down. They are attempting an appeal, or work out some other arrangement to allow them to reopen."

They are...SpeakingRockCasino in El Paso, and AL-Coushatta Entertainment Center in Livingston. Note: I thought it was a MS tribe, not AL. I stand corrected.
Stay tuned for further research;)

Yes it was Speaking Rock in El Paso and they can have it. I will never go again till they open a regular casino. You put your money on a players card, the machines are computers with several games on them. Your points on your card do not record your winnings only the amount you play. After you decide you change games or redeem your points you must take the card back to the counter and they will pay you what you have won if anything. So speaking say you played a level #1 machine as they call it, they have no indication of what the machine is except for a level #1 or a level #2 machine. Your points on your card continue going down and the amount you have won is indicated on the machine, when you decide to redeem your winnings points if any, you click on redeem points on the computer and you go back to the counter. Say I won 360 points, my card is down to 1,000 credits (2000 credits for $100), they run the card through a reader and they gave me $18, so I lost $32. I did not like this set up and will not return as long as this system is in place. I hope I made this a clear as mud.

Hey Drgonslyer:

You are not a surgeon, are you?

PS - For $10, I will call your wife (with the sound of bedpans crashing) and tell her you have to work late :) Just a service I was thinking of offering.

:D No, I am glad I am not a surgeon, would not want their hours. But as for bed pans, I don't have to empty them, but if the toilet clogs up then its my turn. I am the Director of Engineering for a local hospital here. My biggest problem is that I am on-call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Plus I am a EMT, 1st Responder/firefrigther for a volunteer fire department, which I have been doing for over 30 years. At times things can get interesting between the two. Come in to ER doing CPR on a unit and then 1 hour later be in ER directing people cleaning up the mess and repairing a broken waste pipe.

Very comendable. Thanks to people like you our hospitals can run in this economy.
