Well I got an offer today from the Trop for a free FLIP video recorder. Along with the offer is off course a two night stay, and 200 dollars in freeplay 50 in FB credit. It is a four hour drive for me. Would you go? Its in three weeks...
OMG, Slotty, you wouldn't have to ask me twice! :))

Well...to me it depends. How much money are you willing to play.......is it worth it if you lose? I have began to put logic behind all the offers I get. I always ask myself..do I need what they are giving......is it going to end up costing me 1000 bucks to get it?
If you are planning a trip anyway..well then of course!

This is my thought process as well. It's like well what happens after 30 mins and I burn through all the other freeplay? I still will have 48+ hours left... lol

My thinking exactly....how badly do you want that flip camera and could you buy one with the money you will end up spending?

Yes, without a doubt I would go. New flip's are around 100-120 and you could always save it for a xmas pres for your son (if he doesn't already have one) or for another special person. You can always go and stay one night then leave late afternoon or evening and not actually spend the night the 2nd night. Also, my daughter has a Flip and it is AWESOME! So simple to use and download, it is a great gadget.

So correct; sometimes you get these things that you really don't want or can't make use of. I normally put all the offers together, plus my own play money and decide if it really worth the while.

That sounds like a great offer if you were already planning trip. I agree about picking up these free gifts that end up costing so much more. I saw a promotion last month at Harrah's Rincon where they were giving away George Forman's Grill for every 75 or 150 (didn't get all the details) RC earned that day. I saw a lady with 5 of them in the elevator and I said to myself, if I really wanted one, I would get one for $10.00 vs. risk losing $225.00 for each grill but that is just me though....

Not sure I would do it. Also, look at the ratings online for a Flip video and see if it is worth it as well.
If you were thinking of making a casino trip in the near future, then why not? Freeplay, free rooms and F&B plus the gift isn't bad.
Plus you can use the flip camera to record bonus rounds too.

For me, that Flip camera alone wouldn't be worth the trip. From my knowledge of the camera, it only holds 30 minutes-1 hour worth of video and has no media holder (SD card) to expand that memory. The camera would be okay for short videos, but for anything longer (like a kids' sport or school event), it would be useless. I have also heard that the company is no longer making this camera, so if you need assistance (warranty, tech help), they may not help you. If it's not for you, you can always put it on ebay ;)
However, the 2 night stay is nice, but the 200 fp may go quickly, so you would have to bring a bankroll or find something else to do (Boardwalk would be crowded this time of year).

Also, be advised that Cisco (the company that makes the Flip recorder) has closed their Flip business. i.e they've discontinued making it and won't be supporting it anymore.
So, it'll be almost like getting a free beta (or whatever the other VCR thing was)...

I would take that offer in a heartbeat. it pays for your room and food and the free play more than covers your gas expense.:)

If I have a planned trip anyway I try and line them up with the offers, that seems to work best for me- I'm going anyway. If a certain promotion offer comes in and I wasn't planning on going, I really think about it (because most of the time I fly through their FP and lose alot of my own money and I never really end up using/needing what it was they are giving away for *Free*). To me it's all about the bottom line.....money.

I love my Flip -- I have a Flip Slide. It has come in handy for blog videos, and the version I have has a slide out viewer for movie watching. It has been a fun, easy to use camera, and I would take one today if it was free. However...
In April (or so) Cisco announced it was discontinuing the Flip line. This means that it is now an obsolete product. There will be no support for it, and the video "Flip Share" site is on a countdown to being closed. Thus, the "value" of the gift the casino is giving is very low. Still, if you want a fun little camera and want to take the offer anyway, go for it!

I have to agreed with you about C'town... I hadn't been in almost a year and had a great time. I really enjoyed the machines they had. So glad you had a winning night. Looking forward to TR and pictures.

Go for it.
Even if the FLIP has been discontinued, go for it. If they are offering you two free nights and 200 in Free Play, go for it.
Free booze, and I assume you rate comped meals as well, so go for it. Just lay off the free booze before making that four hour drive back home.

Well, sadly DH's Father has been in and out of the hospital for about two weeks. I will not be taking up the Trop on this offer since we just dont know when he may have to up and leave. His dad is about an hour and a half away, so its not like hes close by. There will be more offers, especially since I did just visit recently and left a nice hunk of cash in their casino. It would have been nice to get that flip though, because with my current camera I cannot figure out how to upload the damned videos onto the computer. Maybe next time! BTW, this is like the third offer for some type of digital camcorder at the Tropicana. I think they are encouraging videotaping, dont you?:p
