So a man at Augustine Casino here in Southern California won $10,386 playing keno. He hit 8 out of 8 numbers. I think this was a $1 slot. I actually saw them pay him out a super thick wad of cash. He appeared to be a retired guy who was very lucky on that morning. He told me he had only been playing that particular machine for some were over 30 minutes but less than 1 hour. I might need to consider playing me some keno. While he was waiting for his hand pay the lady next to him hit 7 out of 8 numbers and it paid her $900 should she had caught the final number she would have won $4,000 since the guys win reset the jackpot to $4,000.

Handpaid $10,000 + in cash is amazing...I wonder if Casinos would issue checks ?
Carrying a large amount around can be very uncomfortable.
Thanks for posting.

Our local casinos write checks. I was sitting by a man who won $23,000 on a dollar machine. He asked for $20,000 in a check and $3,000 in cash. That's what they gave him.

I've heard many say that you have the option to go for the check. I know if it were me I would have taken a check to ensure most of the money made it home with me. You see between the casino where he won that money and my house there are a good 6 Indian casinos where I could have stopped off and blown some money.

I always told hubby I'd get most check and then cash to play with, but he wants all cash so he can roll around on the bed in it!! I think this is a common fantasy!LOL But I'd do it that way for the same reason, to make sure most of it came home with me and with temtation like what you have there, I don't blame you one iota!!!!!:D

i only had $30 to start with so i decided to play 'small' on pot of gold keno this week. gotta 'stretch' that budget!

i decided to use my first twenty and play superball keno only betting 50 cents per play and i got 6 out of 6 numbers (w/superball hit which equals x4) (had i only bet the max of $2!!! doh! i'm sure that would have been at least 1 or 2k)

6 out of 6 numbers on a 50 cent bet pays $75
plus superball hit (x4) = a cool $300

(that to me was amazing...b.c anyone who plays keno knows its so hard to hit all your numbers!)

i then switched machines and hit 4 or 5 out 6 a few times walked and walked out with in total over $500! :) i even played a nickel jackpot party and on my first twenty i cashed out over $80. not bad for a starting bank roll of $30.

i decided to leave a 'winner' and not play my fortune back to the casino.

needless to say i gave $120 back the next night.

so i learned, CASH OUT when your ahead! and walk away...walk far far away!

I do like keno, actually, you've got me thinking and I think I'm gonna post a ? to everyone who plays. How do you pick your numbers?

With me, it's related to my username. I'm a big Mewtwo fanatic, and his number in the video game is #150, so I'll do either all factors of 150 (2, 75, 3, 50, 10, 5) or numbers that only have 1's, 5's, and 0's in them (1, 5, 10, 11, 15, 50).

I've gotten 5/6 before but never the full 6/6.

i love to play keno. when i go to the casino half of my time is spent on a keno machine. i usually do birthdays, or just random kind of squint my eyes and pick numbers. i've had more wins [small wins] that way than using the quick pick.

i've got to learn how to do the multiple card thing. last time i went, there was a lady that sat beside me and i was watching her play. she could pick cards from a to z, and she picked a through d. she only played 7 numbers. she was betting a dollar. i kid you not, within 15 minutes she won like $400.
