This weekend I was babysitting my granddaughters at my daughter's house, 5 minutes away from MS Pocono Downs. Saturday was a giveaway and I knew I had "at least" $75 in FP plus a chance to win something better, a car, etc. Well, the FP was burning a hole in my pocket even though I didn't really have it in my pocket-LOL. I convinced my 85 year old mom to watch the girls and ran over to PD. Turns out my FP was actually $90!! Played the machines at 90 cents/$1 a spin (that's lowballing for me:) Hit a few wins at $30 each, lost it all, left and was back home in an hour. That's it, end of TR-LOL

Side note: I was very proud of myself that I actually exhibited self control and left. It was very difficult but I proved to myself that I could walk away. (Of course, I couldn't get on a WWII machine or the TR might have had a totally different outcome:)

At least you have the satisfaction of not having any holes in your pockets.

I love those quick trips, win or lose! Sometimes being on a tight schedule can keep you from losing too much. Or, in your case, you had an hour of fun on Pocono! The WWII's there don't like me much.. NONE of the 4!

I have never gotten on a WWII there, always slot hogs hogging it up! Good discipline Lynda and kudos to mom for taking over your duties while you were "working"..;)

Ken, I knew I was in trouble when I called and my mom asked me what she should feed the girls for lunch, cause they were hungry. My "nana" guilt kicked in & I knew it was time to go-LOL!!!

They definitely hog up those machines any time I've been there - kinda like what we're going to be doing in 2 weeks at our second OWW2!!!

Lynda, come to World Resorts NY--they have plenty of WWII and they are always empty--cause they are always cold!--LOL! You walked away a winner in my book. Very very proud of you!

How cool....I wish I was that close to a casino to do those type of trips. LOL, who am I kidding I don't have the willpower to leave that quick. WTG AuntWinny for being able to do the hit and run.

Very proud of you for walking away:) I bet the girls were pretty happy too! (lunch) It is so cool that you had Moms around to step in for you. Good going Lynda, I don't know if I would have had that kind of will power.

Lynda, good for you giving yourself a chance to win! Even though you didn't come home with casino winnings, at least you tried with free play. I think your next casino visit will be a more profitable one ;)

Like Rob said, sometimes all its about is getting the gambling fix out of the way, I know that's how I feel too sometimes...:) Win or Lose, just have to mentally get it out of my mind to go even if it's a quick visit...:) Glad you did not lose any money!!! Proud of you Aunty...

LOL, Rob.. I would've been afraid the fire department would be waiting for me when I got back! (Gosh, shades of when I would leave my then-teenage son home alone for a few hours! Who am I kidding, I still worry about him like that!)
