The trip started off late, had to get the wife to the airport for her flight and she was running late. After dropping her off at the check-in, I headed for the mountains. Well my son contacts me on my cell and said that him & his wife wanted to go with me. Thirty miles out of town, had to turn around and head for their house. In stead of being in the mountains by 0645 hours, we made it by 0800 hours, still not bad, 140 miles in 1 1/2 hours, the diesel was blowing smoke, sh-ting & getten. Any way made to the morning buffet before the Sunday monring crowl hit, had my normal - meat (bacon), meat (ham), toast, and coffee, good buffet but nothing to write home about - off to the casino. The casino was of course not kind to me, WOF was cockca, and well as Happy Days, could'nt hit a damn thing. My son and his wife were in the same boat. No Star Teck, or other new games, some day we will come out of the dark ages around here. Every machine I touched just had a coat of ice on them. Gold Fish had a coat of ice on the top of the pond. The Prince of P. kept flipping me off. After a quick lunch I was walking back to the casino and the V-7 machine caught my eye, what the hell, can't be any worst than any other machine. I sit down and the guy next to me stated that he had just hit the machine for $200 and it would not pay off for quite a while. I thank him for the info and played anyway since my $20 was in the machine. He proceeded to tell me how to play the machine and what all the symbols were. My son was standing behind me laughing his a-- off. I was nice and just let the guy talk. Third push of the button - 7's, x2, 7's, x2, 7's = $450, could not take a picture since Security was right by the machines. I thanked the "answer man" and cashed out. Now things were starting to turn around - wrong. The new ice age had set in again and even with long pants on it was getting cold in the casino. More rounds of nothing and more nothing, then came Coyote Moon - playing 1 x 50 lines, started paying off in little bits. Got the bonus for a total of $100, so I went to 2 x 50 lines, got the bonus and a hand pay for $492. Cashed out / had a nice ride home and I can not wait until the end of August for my Laughlin trip.

Thanks all

I have stopped at Sky City casino and Dancing Eagle Casino ( both on I-40) when I travel to Oklahoma 2x a year.

I never stay for long, just a way to 'wind down' after driving for 11-12 hours.

Have you ever played at the Rt. 66 casino down the road on I-40. They have all the new games there like Star Trek, Jaws, Monopoly Tycoon transmissive reels, Star Wars Multi-level progressives, and such. Great Casino hotel and great Route 66 theme too!

I did stop by once, but couldn't stay very long. I'd like to visit when I have more time, but I am usually trying to get through Albuquerque and all that traffic as fast as possible. :lol

correct me if i'm wrong but i thought Coyote Moon has 40 lines max... unless this is a newer version?

also hand pay for only $492 ?? must be the state law there?

The standard version of "Coyote Moon" is 40 lines. That's correct.

At Casino Niagara, in June 2009, I saw a version with a few single buttons. It was 50 or 100 lines -- and you basically had to play multiples of $1 -- and it gave you every line (times your line bet).

I see WMS is testing the water on this "fixed" wager -- and I am supportive of it -- as long as the PAYBACK percentage is based on the "fixed amount" --and not the line wager (eg. $1 bet = $1 payback percentage, not 1-cent denom).

Stopped for a night of fun at the Route 66 west of Albuquerque back in May. Did pretty well. Husband won $500 +/- on a Hot Shot progressive - 30 cents bet. I got $800.00 +/- out of $1 Red Hot Chili Pepper machine. Route 66 -Nice and friendly - would go back. Sandia - no way. Everyone was super nice - machines beyond tight.

I have never played at Route 66 but I have heard good things about it and will try it our next trip to Albq. Yes this Coyote Moon for some reason has 50 lines as max number of lines and the total pay out was $575 but the machine made me take a hand pay of $492. I did not have an option on that, it went to "contact Slot Attendent - Hand Pay $492" automaticlly.

It must be a casino policy of thiers, its a big inconvience waiting on a smaller handpay like that when you might have actually played more into the machines then the small handpay you have to wait on. None of the others around here in AZ to this, its the typical 1200 or more wins that get a handpay. They are building the NEW Casino Talking Stick Resort be interesting to see if they continue this silly policy:rolleyes: Drgonslyer that route 66 casino sounds like its worth checking out:)

Maxgirl, you hit the nail right on the head. I am going to see if I can get up to Albq. in September sometime. Route 66 sounds like it could be real interesting and from what I hear it is not that far out of town on I-40 West. Plus Albq. is not that far from Phoenix, just a hop, skip and a jump - LOL. Albq. is about 3 1/2 hours from here, from Phoenix it looks to be twice that.

hi maxgirl :)
actually there are a couple that have hand pays at $200. The first one that comes to mind (unless they have changed it recently) is Cliff Castle in Camp Verde. When they first did it, we thought it was a real pain so we asked someone we know that works up there. Apparently, a number of the floor personnel, not just the servers, are paid by tips and their salary is adjusted down accordingly to allow for that. When they went to hand pays at only the larger amounts, a lot of people had a giant drop in income. (Imagine being a waitress and getting paid only $2.10 an hour and suddenly you aren't allowed to get any tips.) So the casino set the machines to trigger at $200 for a handpay. That was ok, in our opinion the secondary note on that, it also allowed the casino to add another way to 'count jackpots' for advertising purposes LOL!
