I have only once had a decent bonus on Cleo II. I remember doing better on original Cleopatra. Anyone have an opinion?

Well they are very different. Cleo II is more volatile, you can win extremely high amounts on it, but the bonus is harder to trigger. I agree that on average I do better on the original Cleo, but I still like to test my luck on Cleo II and see if I can get some bonus retriggers.

How do you bet? I usually start at 60 cents (penny machine) and move up from there if the machine is playing.

They are very different but to be honest, I don't care for either one of them and never understood what the big deal is/was with Cleopatra!

The ones I play are 20 lines, so I usually bet 40 or 60 cents. I will play cleopatra for a longer period of time, but I usually get off of Cleo II right after a bonus because I'm scared it will just take my money back.

Comparing "Cleopatra" and "Cleopatra II" are like comparing "Micheal Jackson" and "Micheal Jordon". They are both famous, and both share the name "Micheal". The comparison is almost pointless ... because the math is completely different on these two machines.

Cleopatra was one of IGT's first BONUS scatter trigger games, and one of the first FREE SPIN GAMES (okay, they ripped it off from Aristocrat's, "Queen of the Nile" slot) -- right down to the Egyptian Theme.

I love Cleopatra and Cleopatra II. I agree that II is more volatile, one reason being 2 bonus symbols don't pay anything in II as they do in I. However, I just find II fun. I wish AC would get the damn game already. As for the original, in my view if there was a slot machine Hall of Fame, this would be a first-year entry. I think Cleopatra was one of the games that truly revolutionized slot gaming. Plus, it still holds up today.

I played the old nickel version of Cleopatra at the Palms going 9 lines x 5 per line for $2.25 a spin. I put in $20 and ran it down to my last spin before I got into the bonus round of 15 free spins and it re-triggered for another 15 free spins and in the end cashed out over $400 dollars. As for Cleopatra II, no such luck.

Hi BonusRetriggered:

There is no doubt that this is IGT's biggest video slot, ever. It is not possible to name a video slot which has been around for 10 years -- and the exact game is still a staple in new casinos. Amazing popularity.

It was one of the first few slots to offer scatter trigger bonus, If you looked at some of the older slots, you would realize that bonus are triggered left to right or the bonus is not free spin. 15 free spins with a free x3 multiplier offer the chance to pay bigger hence the attraction. This was why it was so popular. Cleopatra 1 is more stable but cleopatra 2 is more volatile with each bonus spin having a increasing multipler. That being said I find cleopatra 2 bonus really hard to trigger but one my last visit over the weekend at seneca niagara casino, I saw someone won 26000 credits on cleopatra 2 betting 25x1 on a nickel machine. That is about 1300 dollars handpay. He must have hit a nice bonus with lots of spin and a good hit towards the end when the multiplier is high.

however because it is so volatile, be prepared for lots of empty spins
