As much as I like to complain about the Native run casino in Niagara Falls, NY (Seneca) ... they offered me ... not one night ... but two complimentary nights in their beautiful hotel. I get double bonus bucks, and a complementary buffet. Last stay, I nursed around $200 over 2 days ... so, looks like I will be back for a few days in November.

With the Canadian Dollar close to PAR ... it's a great deal. Don't worry ... plan to use my comps at Casino Niagara as well.

Hi Shamus,

I must ask, what is your secret to lasting 2 days on a $200 bankroll. I can barely make that last 1.5 hours betting between $0.40-$1. Is it b/c I go to a charity casino. Also what is your advice regarding Casino Niagara and Fallsview, I may go there in Dec.

Thanks Jackpot

Hi Folks:

I had only been to Seneca a few times, but I found the place tight. As you know, the slot floor is more than half 1-cent fixed denom machines. They have lots of good games, but they are all pennies ... and the payback on pennies suck! I try to stay away from pennies as much as possible.

I spent most of my time, up in the top, front of the casino. There are older nickel machines there ... mostly IGT. I played a lot of HEXBREAKER (1 x 13 nickels). It's a very conservative machine ... it hits the two bonus rounds a lot ... the bonus rounds are very very modest, but it keeps you going.

There is a game called "USED CARS" which was so difficult, I went down to only getting 5 lines x 5-cents (25-cents) a spin. If you get in the BONUS ROUND, a $40 or $50 hit is possible.

I had luck on Antique Appraisal, Ghost Island, Benny's Big Show -- and I just play 9 x 1. I likely played slots 8 hours the first day and three hours the 2nd day.

I did the calculation at the time -- you get $1 comp for every x amount of play. I think we figured we must have each played $7500 total in order to get the comp we received.

I can not recall winning anything close to $100 -- which furthers my thought that the machines are tough.

I did play the HOT HOT RESPIN for Heart of Venice ... and broke even after a few hours of play. Also ... played GOLD FISH ... had a great time ... near even on that as well.

It all equates to a good time ... and I really relaxed, playing some old school slots. They are not, for the most part, as exciting as 100 lines -- but it is still fun to win money.

Fallsview and Niagara are, in my opinion, much looser than Seneca. Try to stay away from the 1-cent machines. The 2-cent denom is pretty fair. We made out "like bandits" on 2-cent JACKPOT STAMPEDE machines (right behind GOLDFISH).

I would stay away from the 1-cent or 2-cent WMS machines near the bar at the front. Over time ... these machines must be set at the lowest setting.

The WMS Goldfish machines play okay ... the WRAP AROUND pays pay okay ...

My favourites are IGT 2-cent denoms back toward the buffet area -- "DUCKS IN A ROW" or "SNOW GLOBES" or "COYOTE MOON" etc. I've had good wins out of these machines.

When are you going? Do you go often?

Casino Niagara is smaller ... a few different machines ... but Fallsview covers most of the action. The payouts on the machines were similar from my experience. I like the buffet better at Casino Niagara.

Just a word of caution, if you are heading to the border/Niagara area on QEW by car, watch your speed around the St. Catherines area. They are nabbing motorists for speeding.

That area has been under construction for a while. I've been trying hard not to speed lately! Thanks for the tip.

its like before hitting stanley avenue and after the construction. before the bridge where there is a place you can exit. I have seen cops setting up shop there catching speeders. Seeing as there is a OPP station by stanley avenue, I usually drive slow anyways, no point losing before you even enter the casino:)
