Hi , just wondering if anyone knows the "hole" size of the coin drop for IGT slot machines and if this changes from each manufacturer. Most coin drops have been replaced by coupon printers, and this hole has a blank plate over them now.

Not sure exactly what you mean here.

If you're talking about where the coins would go into the machine, that's called the coin head. If I recall correctly, IGT machines had two sizes of coin head, large and small. Additional parts would fit inside of the coin head for the exact coin size. For the small, you'd have different inserts for $.05, $.10 (rare) $.25, $.50. The large size would accommodate $1 tokens and larger.

If your talking about the hole in the bottom of the machine where coins would flow into the drop bucket which would be contained in the slot machine stand or "base", these were all large, large enough to accommodate all coin sizes.

If I recall correctly, all the manufacturers had the same arrangement, more or less, but they were not interchangable, meaning IGT parts would only work on IGT, Bally parts on Bally, etc...

Sorry, I don't have those exact dimensions. If I recall correctly the "hole" is actually square, and about 3/4 of a inch by 2 inches.

Another poster here, Ohiogaming, is a seller of slot machines. He might be able to help you out.

Also, there's www.slottechforum.com which is a great resource.

Here's a link to the manual for IGT S+ machines, but I don't know if there are any schematics that have dimensions on parts. You could take a look and see.

The exterior dimensions for the entry base and head for an IGT machine is 3½" x 1". The hole that it covers is smaller. It has 2 seperate holes for the small and 2 for the large coin entry base for mounting but the opening for the coins to fall through is the same. Send me an email if you would like a picture of the opening and the next time I have one removed I will take a picture and send it to you.

Each manufacture does have an different type of coin base and head.
