Hi everyone, last week took a 2 day trip up the mountain to Harvey's in Lake Tahoe. The drive up was beautiful, it had just snowed and it looked like a Christmas card.

Arrived Thursday afternoon and stayed two nights at Harvey's comped. Stayed in a very nice room on the 17th floor overlooking the lake and the mountains.

So sad to say Harvey's was a ghost town, very empty and many of the venues were closed. Went to play slots so the upside was it was easy to get a machine, including WOZ. The action slowly picked up on Friday so I was happy to see that; Harvey's is my favorite casino and I want them to stay in business!

We played mostly pennies and dollars. No big wins except for a good WOZ flying monkey bonus ($207). I did a quick run on the $5 slots, put in $100 each on three different machines and cashed out close to $950 so that was nice. But... of course I gave it back before the end.

Played SR, Wolf Run, Sirens, and a new IGT game for me Fire Opals. Won some, lost more, and racked up a bunch of points on my Total Rewards card. Overall had a great time playing.

Thanks for reading!

Wait you did better than us!!! Even though you put it back you still got some wins!! We couldn't get anything and even when we did get a bonus they paid HORRIBLE! What did you think of Sirens? I really like that game even thought I haven't gotten the bonus! Tahoe sounds really beautiful. Someday I am certain we will go there. Too bad it was so empty though. I like that for machines choices but it does sort of take away the excitement when it isn't a "hopping" casino. Glad to hear you had a good time. Now for LV right?

Deb, we did do better because we did get some wins, so I can't complain! My feeling was like yours though, the bonuses were for the most part skimpy skimpy skimpy.

LV is coming up in March, I'm so excited about finally visiting Red Rock. Need to start saving my bankroll. We will be renting a car and plan to visit around the area, another first for me. As for RR, I hope they have Jackpot Station, my sister pined for it the whole time we were in Tahoe!

You should try to visit Tahoe some time, the south shore has the casino action and it's beautiful no matter what time of year. I personally prefer the summer season because the weather is warm. 4th of July and Labor day weekends are especially hopping so it makes it extra fun.

They DO have Jackpot Station! BUT it could be gone by now. When we were there in July they have one and I will tell you where it is. All of the Monopoly games are in the same bank. They are located right in front of the movie theatre, arcade, and bowling alley. Just past the Bingo hall area. That is where all of them have been since I have been going there since 11/08. I am friends with the slot manager there so when the time gets closer to your trip (like 2 weeks before) I will email him for a spread sheet of the games. I will need it for our trip in April anyway. He always does this for me before we go! He is really cool. I will make a note and then email you the spread sheet once I get it.

Hi Everyone
I downloaded my pictures from our Harvey's trip and have posted them here.
Somehow, I have forgotten the amount I won on WOZ.... I do remember the flying monkey bonus paying $207... I must have won an additional amount as the pictures show more than that! You can also tell I am a big fan of Wolf Run. Hard to imagine all those wins and yet I came home a loser.... :o
The last picture is of a win on Fire Opals, this machine was new to me and within the first couple of spins I bonused... so I really liked this game!
I hope the pictures show up. Thanks for looking!

Nice pics! Thanks for sharing. To me, it's always a good trip if I have fun and get some play. I don't expect to come home ahead. It's nice, but it should be for entertainment. The wins are exciting and keep you playing. Always a good thing when you're on a gambo trip for more than a day.

Thanks for the report and pictures. I was at Harvey's Lake Tahoe in October and was disappointed in the selection of slot machines. We have newer machines in Biloxi. I did like the video poker there and that's what I mostly played. It is a beautiful location.

I loved Lake Tahoe and can't wait to get back. Hopefully when we go to Reno in a couple months we will have an extra day to sneak down there and spend a night. Our room at Harveys was great except for the view out the window but the bed was so comfy and the bathroom area was huge. The slots seemed slightly better than Reno and thats not saying alot but it was still fun to be on vacation and gambling!

Woweeee!!! Very nice pics and at max bet too! Whoo hoo! Hubby and I are huge Wolf Run fans and we always swear that one day we're gonna put $100-$200 in and just max bet like crazy. I always tell him, hey it only takes one good one!! You got plenty of good ones!!! We love Fire Opal too. There's another version of it called Fire Mustangs, something like that, I really like it too. The largest spin I've ever got on Fire Opal was $100+. It's posted somewhere on this forum. Sounds like you had a great time!!

Thanks everyone for the replies. FL Mary, the reason Harvey's is my favorite casino is because of the VP. I won my first royal there, a progressive 25 cent royal that paid my first handpay of $3091! I was pregnant with my daughter, who is now 18 so that tells you how far back I go with Harvey's. That win was at the Heavenly Bar, nowdays the progressive machines are gone. The California bar still has a $3 progressive VP; I once won (years ago) $2700 on a royal there. My point is, Harvey's has been good to me, especially for VP. That's why I go, even though my last trip was a slot trip. I agree the slots are tired. Still like some of the dollars and the high roller room.

Traber, Angi and Jackpot, thanks much for the posts. I love LT and will continue to go there, and hope the crowds pick up. Harvey's and Harrah's are great and I always have a good time. I love Wolf Run; just updated my avatar to reflect my best win ever on it. Only 4 wolfs missing.... I wonder if anyone ever got a screen full of wolves! Maybe someday!;)

I love the penny machines but guess I need to sometimes up the anny - I never bet over 2.00 on pennies - but the $1 , $2 or $5 machine has not been very kind to me lately - maybe I should change my stragety when I get off this casino hiatus. Do you always bet this high on penny slots? Thanks for the pictures.

SLH, there is no normal for me; when I am with my sister I bet max; when I'm with my family I bet one credit per line. I was with my sister on my LT trip; she is my usual partner for gambling. She is far more aggressive than I on the penny slots; I am more aggressive on the reels.

Hi angie, WR is one I'm gonna try (again) this week. Just don't 'run' for me, but gotta try a couple max spins. Won't play more than $50 though. Gotta drag the $500 through more than a couple, like CoyMoon. Now they'll howl for me.
