Have a great trip! Where are you staying? I have looked at some of the properties on the Harrahs site. It looks like a nice place to visit someday. I want to hear all about it when you get back!

Jennybean, this site lists all the casinos and a link to there own web sites. We always stay at the Gold Strike and where it is at you just walk through each casino to the next. There are three together there, the rest are close buy and are alot of fun. They really treat you nice down there. The food is out of this world and I know that you like a sip every now and then and that is good to. You can really have a great time down there.

waltsnutts...looking forward to your trip review. I just found out that we may be going there for a week next month. It has been five years or more since we have been to Tunica. We are thinking about staying at the Gold Strike as you suggested. I registered at their website this weekend. Anyway...I'll be watching for your report.

Thanks!

Sorry do not have any pictures and I know that I have forgotten some stuff already but we had a great time as always in Tunica. If there are any questions I will try to answer them.
Lots of new games in the Tunica casinos. Not a winning trip but not a wash out either. We played the slots for 5 days an average of 18 hours a day, and only lost 1200 between the two of us. Sounds like alot but not really bad for that much time in front of a slot machine , for two people. Of course my wife was always doing better the myself. We came out winners at Gold Strike and Resorts but lost at Hollywood ,Sams Town ,Harrahs , and Roadkill opps I mean RoadHouse. We stayed at Gold Strike and it was great as usual.
Sorry Deb I cannot believe this either but to my surprise we had a good time playing some of the new WMS slots. Some are the regular vacuum cleaners like Snow Leparad ,Panda Riches, but Mayan Sun ,Rome & Egypt and Lancelot were super good playing games. My wife played Lancelot and triggered the 50 free spin bonus then retriggered the 50 once , 5 spins three times ,10 spins twice , and 20 spins twice. She took out over 900 that time after she had played some more. Also the mech reel game Golden Moai was a good hitter. Did not see Airplane or any of the new Wms 4reel games. All told also took out more than 1500 between the two of us on the three reel Reel' em In The Big One. Monopoly Planet Go and Viva Monoplay were hot and cold but fun and we took out more than we put in.
Played the new ELVIS and it was a dud as was Sex and the City . Those games were like me at the buffet, eating everything in sight , but I lasted longer. Did not see any of the new Scrabble games yet.
So many games, so little brain. All in all it was a great time, we always like it down there. In fact ready to go back.

The Gold Strike (and MGM - Mississippi) is really going all out on mailings it seems, just received another mailer from them for airfare from St. Louis, shuttle from the airport and accommodations for 2 for 3 nights. We have only been to Tunica once, last summer, and stayed next door at the Horseshoe, although we played a little at the Gold Strike. Have you ever received offers from them like this when you first went there? They sent us the same thing for Biloxi, and we have never been there! I think the fact that we were not on MGM's radar before and went to the Gold Strike every day we were there (for a little play at least, maybe only a couple of $20 or so apiece) had something to do with it. Didn't play much at all at the Horseshoe because of the damn bolted down chairs and abundance of $5 slots, way over my budget. Played some at was then the Sheraton, but they had half the floor closed, so it was a touch sucky at that time also. That left the Gold Strike for casual play and their chairs moved, a big plus in my book. Plus, we truly liked the place. They had the machines we were looking for, but if I remember correctly, they had them programmed wrong, because I got my clock cleaned by them each time! Bad part of these offers is they name the dates, no flexibility, but may try to work with it! Better finish my taxes first, cause I'm gonna need what little I get back if this is to happen. I'd like to see their rooms, if they are even close to the Horseshoe's, they will be very satisfactory. I will go by your recommendation on the rooms!<O:p</O:p

losing 1200 for 5 days for 2 people workks out to 120 dollars a day per person. Not a bad deal at all

Is not bad for loss's. Airport they will work with you on dates, on the offers we had recieved for airfare it is open for at least a year, just keep your offer card with the offer number and when you call they will work with you. Fills up fast as the planes are small and only certian days. We drive cause we like the freedom to go all over, car rental is limited, we hear at airport, and Heck it is only a 12 hour drive from our house, and I like to drive.

We just got an offer for a junket from St. Pete in April. Considering it because we really enjoyed Biloxi but no offers for April, but concerned about the distance from hotel and casino and necessary shuttles. Also reviews have said that Harrahs is very tight. Is Horseshoe close and is that also a Harrahs property? Should we do it> What about a trip to Graceland?
Thanks, buddies. =)

Thanks for the report. Tunica is on my list of places to visit. Hopefully one of the junket dates will work for us sometime....not really wanting to drive it.

What casino gave the offer, Gold Strike is MGM..... Harrahs owns Harrahs, HorseShoe and RoadHouse. Graceland is about 30 miles away and most properties can set you up with the tours. It is alot easier to get around if you have your own veh. And as far as the casino trips they pick you up at the airport. This site may help......www.tunicatravel.com/home
Good luck

The junket is from Harrahs. In Biloxi there are "casino hopper" shuttles that can get you from one place to another. Wondering if it's the same in Tunica. Also I read where the hotel is not connected to the casino and requires a shuttle...kind of inconvenient. Never been to Tunica so still considering it. Will the Goldstike use the MGM card?
Thanks.
