I don't know if any of you have seen or not, or even care for that matter. But WMS is releasing The Lord of the Rings slot machine soon I hope. It's similar to Star Trek in the Adaptive Gaming category because you unlock certain bonuses the longer you play. Being a big fan of LOTR, I can't wait to get my hands on this machine. It seems like something I could see myself sitting for hours on, win or no win. Here's a link to the slot. I think alot of people on this site enjoy the Star Trek slots, so hopefully these ones deliver as well.

Also, here's another link that shows the bonuses and "Power Spins" a little more in depth. Some of this stuff looks fairly interesting and I cannot wait to play it. I just hope it doesn't dissapoint.

Hi stephenc44:

Don't get my hopes up. No sign of Star Trek around here yet!

For a WMS game, I am not impressed with the graphics and level of detail in the game. Ruby Slippers is absolutely jaw dropping in terms of graphics and game atmosphere, the LOTR is lacking.

From a recent article from the Indian Gaming conference about lotr:

The Slot Manufacturers
But despite concerns over building, there was no ignoring the innovations coming from the manufacturers and other vendors at the show. For WMS, the Lord of the Rings game on the corner of its booth was a big draw, consistently being played and watched. Rob Bone, vice president and general manager of western sales and operations, took time to explain this “next generation of adaptive technology” to slot managers. Players earn miles on their journey to unlock bonus games. Similar to STAR TREK™, the game remembers players and their point in the journey so they can always pick up where they left off. Now, players can also hop online and earn even more miles to redeem when they return to a casino. This online access can be obtained through the casino’s website. Bone points out the game creates a journey, not just 20 to 30 minutes of slot play. “This is a whole new aspect of our company that we believe is going to be revolutionary,” he said. The game will be available in June.

I kind of agree, the actual reels and everything do have a sort of cheap look to them. It looks like they are trying a different set up. However, the bonus videos and stuff look pretty amazing. I kind of expected it to look more stunning as well though too.

Now that I think of it, there really isn't any Star Trek around here either. I've been wanting to play, and actually never have I guess. That does suck though, maybe they'll get it eventually.

"Players earn miles on their journey to unlock bonus games"

Translation: players spend money earning "miles" to "unlock" (oooohhh) "bonus games" and you, as managers get to determine how much or how little players spend and exactly when you want this to happen. While all the while being in total compliance of all regulations, you can tout your wonferful payback percentage, all the while knowing it means nothing.

Just my opinion. I'm sorry stephenc44, because I like your enthusiasm and I hope when you play it, it is paying well.

Hi inaminute:

Sounds like you have this one buried before you even play it ...?

A little harsh?

No not really Shamus. If I have any concern about the game, it would be the concept of "a continuing voyage". I like slots without memory of me, I'd prefer not to start a long term relationship with one.

For me slots are an extension of the original spirit of anonymity within a casino and this type of slot (and players' cards) are simply contrary.

I really don't see how using a login that can be anything you'd like it to be to unlock new games interferes with your anonymity. It's not like you're putting in your name (unless you want to). Playing Star Trek/LOTR is much more anonymous than posting here, even. (And heck, I'm sure there will be "community" logins for LOTR that are shared by many people, kind of like kirk1234 is on Star Trek. You won't even have to create your own anonymous login to play!)

Wow Stephen, great graphics on that game & lots of bonuses.

One question: WTH are unlockable bonuses? Maybe it is past my bedtime, but I thought they are saying these bonuses can not be triggered.

Can't wait to play it, seems like a combination or Stonehenge, WOZ and a whole new level of bonuses.

Alright we hopefully they get the betting this right this time around. Something that always pissed me off about Star trek is that no matter if you max bet or min bet you get the same amout of medals. Screw that! Im a max bet player and deserve 10 times the medals of a min bet player. Anyone else agree? I lost interest in Star trek very quickly.

Not content with attempting to control one's mind when at the casino, this slot allows you to supposedly gain an advantage or enhance your status from home. Yet participating or not in this feature does or doesn't affect one's winnings.

How many lawyers did it take to approve this given a U.S. ban on internet gambling. Or maybe they aren't worried because it doesn't alter your chances of winning.

Maybe it simply is a way for WMS to reach you anywhere you have computer access and encourage you back to a casino to play their game. Do you think it is about your gaming happiness and satisfaction?

Just my opinion.

I am hoping someone out there can help. Is there a login that unlocks all of the bonus levels for the Lord of the Rings Slot machine. I play the Star Trek ones a lot, and always use the login to unlock everything, and was hoping someone had the login for the LOTR game, since I'm going to a casino that just got it last week. I've played it at other casinos, but only have like the first 3 levels unlocked.

Wow. I'm a big gamer, and I'm blown away that I didn't think of this....good thinking James. There has to be. It's like a video game cheat lol. I really hope someone has a login and password for a massively unlocked LOTR player's life account.

ANYONE?!?!?!

I'm just gonna bump this up. Hopefully someone has a player's life log-in and password with all the bonus games unlocked for LOTR slots...

The shared login won't work, as each login can only be used on one machine at a time.

DrJ898

But Rick...word is that a shared and fully-unlocked login and password were used openly on Star Trek awhile back.

KidPrime

Different system. The old system didn't authenticate the players life login. It probably just inserted/updated a single database row which was not password-protected. The new system has to be more security-aware, as there is real-world data linked to it now.

Yes but that was Star Trek. LOTR doesn't use the same logins as ST. I tried it, and the system told me I was unable to login on the second machine as the username was already in use.

Gotcha gotcha, thanks Rick & KidPrime. I guess I got my hopes up lol.

PS: Joey...maybe I'll see you at Borgata?

Sometimes when you hit the bonus it will randomly unlock all bonuses for you to choose from. And once in a while it will let me and foamy use the same player log-in at machines right next to each other. Not sure why sometimes it does let you and other times it doesn't??? Strange

Well, in that case, does anyone mind sharing their login if they won't be using it on Jan. 22nd and 23rd?

You can go to playerslife.com and analyze the bonus statistics. Under LOTR they have lists for each bonus, the top wins for the week, for the month, and "for all time." It is easy to see that the Fireworks bonus has the highest number of high payouts. This is because of the possibility of having very high multipliers.

I have finished the map for the second installment, and am quite a ways into the next one -- I am maybe going to finish that map BEFORE the game is released, lol I like Fireworks, Gollum, and Balrog bonus' in that order. But, most of them are fun, and who knows what you might get. Good luck!

I finished the map in September on Two Towers with 280 miles and haven't been back to the slot.

But the best bonuses were the Fireworks, Balrog and 1 time on the stairs. The last bonuses put on with Two Towers I never hit much of anything.

Any chance you'll loan me your login username for it?
