I just got a copy of Gambling 102 by Michael Shackleford. He did some research a few years ago about which casinos offered the best payout percentages for their slot machine games. He was only looking at the payout percentage for nickel games, but chances are if the payback is high on those games, it's high on the other games too. Keep in mind too that higher denomination games will almost always offer a higher percentage return. Anyway, here's a list of the top 10 payouts by casino in Vegas according to that appendix.
The Palms - 93.42%
The Gold Coast - 92.84%
The Sahara - 92.81%
Bourbon Street - 92.63%
Imperial Palace - 92.63%
Slots a Fun - 92.63%
Western - 92.5%
Circus Circus - 92.56%
El Cortez - 92.56%
Ellis Island - 92.56%
I left out one casino that was showing as closed on the list. Anyway, it's a great book if you're interested in gambling, and it covers a lot more than just slot payout percentages in Vegas. I'd estimate that if you're playing the $25 a spin slots that you could safely add about 5% to those numbers above and have a pretty good ballpark on the payout percentage for those machines too, with the other denominations progressively getting larger as you move from the nickel slots up to the quarter slots then to the dollar slots and so on.

A little update here:Nevada Gaming Commission Report
# According to "American Casino Guide," the Nevada State Gaming Commission breaks its slot payout percentage report (the percentage of wagered dollars returned to the bettor) by area and amount wagered, rather than by individual casinos. Thanks for that info GG. I tell ya...... everyone should be gambling off strip if they want their bankroll to last longer. Yep, looks like downtown and N. Las Vegas is where I'll spend most my time. Except for one day I have to play at the Venetian, I want a comped suite there so bad. I've seen the room pictures and they are AWESOME!

What would North Las Vegas be ? and Boulder Strip? I also intend to gamble one afternoon at Venetian /Palazzo. Do you need a rental car to get to North Las Vegas or Boulder Strip places or are there shuttles? Is the Orleans in one of those areas because I think I read you can take the Gold Coasts shuttle that is next to Rio to Orleans its a sister property?

Hi all, I looked up some casinos with North Las Vegas addresses and came up with these. I have never been to any of them but might visit one or two on my next trip next week. I have no idea about the neighborhoods they are in either. Jerry's Nugget..750 slots. Fiesta Rancho..1600 slots. Silver Nugget..350 slots. Texas Station..2400 slots. Lucky Club ..400 slots.
Cannery...1250 slots. Some have hotels and some don't. I think i'll go check some of these out on trip advisor and try to get a feel for them.

I would say west of the strip. Don't know if odds are any different . Checking on north LV last night and it seems that the area is not the greatest. I'd rather feel safe and play in places I feel comfortable. I've played at the Palms and at some Coast casinos and they are OK.
