Has anyone played, "Deal or No Deal": Mega Deal". If your casino has the original, "Deal or No Deal" game, they may have been converted to this game. So ... what's the deal?
Answer ... there is none.
When you get the 3 "cash filled breifcases" on a payline, you go into the, "Deal or No Deal" bonus round. As long as you are not super greedy, you should be able to walk with an average of 800 credits (for a 20 coin bet). True, the game lets you play "243 lines" -- just like an IGT machine, but you know ... this game really reminds me of ... ah ... the original Deal or No Deal. Oh look ... it has a progressive element too --- just like, "Deal or No Deal". In fact -- it seems just like the original, "Deal or No Deal" -- and maybe that's why this game is sitting empty ... just like ... the original Deal or No Deal (about 4 months after it was installed).
Recommended ... no way ... you need to max your bet the win a relatively paltry jackpot. It makes me wonder if the new ownership (GTECH) has slowed down this company that once held promise.

I've played Deal or No Deal at my local casino when they first put them in a couple winters ago, I wasn't impressed. There was no progressive, it's possible they've converted the machines...the do seem to be popular to those who are "noobs" to gaming, probably because it's something they recognize due to the popularity of the show. Speaking of which, I'm not a fan of most Movie/TV based games...Men in Black, Back to the Future, The Munsters, The Twilight Zone, Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Hollywood Squares, etc...these are all machines I avoid, and I have played them all at one point to try them out.

I played this game the first weekend of November at a state line casino (California/Nevada). It was a nickel game and within 5 spins I was in the bonus round. I was surprised to see that the highest paying suitcase was $250 or 5,000 nickels. I played the 21 lines at 1 coin per line plus the extra feature cost. After a few No Deals, I took the deal at 1,300 coins = $60. Turns out my case only had 750 coins = $37.50, so I made a great deal. I'm just glad I got into the bonus quickly.

For fun ... this is a little math behind the actual game show:
http://www.pearsonified.com/2006/03/deal_or_no_deal_the_real_deal.php
If you play 21 lines, that is a little over a "buck-a-spin". Since you can win up to $250 bucks ... I think that is a decent bonus --- however, if you consider how long it took people to actually win the top prize on the real show, the generousity of the offer -- while exciting, is a little misleading.
This strategy is being used increasingly by slot makers. In the IGT game, "Sea Monkeys", if you are fortunate enought to score a "diamond" in the bonus round, there are some very large values you can win (and some very moderate values as well). In the WMS Gaming Instant Scratch games (eg. Magic Lamp, Sheeploads of Cash), one of the bonus rounds will multiply whatever you win on your 5 free spins by a (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X) multiplier. A moderate 200 credit win can be transformed to a healthy 2000 coin payment (but you only have a 1-in-5 chance to do it).
My point --- just knowing a big value is out there in the bonus round, is sometimes enough to keep the excitement up --- even if the reality suggests your chances of picking the winning object is not likely.

I think this is one of those money making machines for the casino. On my list of Top 10 NEVER play machines.
Definitely not a favorite of mine!

As much as I do not like this game, I have to admit, I was playing a nickel version of the game with 25-credits per spin. Hit the BONUS ROUND, and it DOUBLED all the values (I didn't realize this could happen). My top amount was 10000 credits.
I actually picked 5 small cases on the first round ... was offered over $200 and took it. It turned out I did have the big case --- but the chances I would play it down to the end are remote.
How casinos got sucked in to so many units of the same game (8 units at my local casino) are unknown. Even the Community Gaming slots have different "Themed" games underlying the community game.

I agree with players who say they avoid this machine like the plague. I have tried it several times in several casinos and my opinion is not fit to print. :P
It is most def a money maker for the casinos, who can count on noobs wanting to participate in a tv show they recognize.
There is a new Deal or No Deal 1$ machine at the Red Hawk Casino (indian) in Sacramento. We played it and its really really fun. its 3 credits to be eligable for the bonus. and the bonus is really good with a max pay of $1000.00.
My wife got the bonus within 12 bucks and won $175.00 in the case bonus.
the bonus lets you pick a case...then you have to pick two cases...deal or no deal..and so on
its just like the penny slot, but with higher denoms.
My father in law hit the bonus and got 80 bucks...but he was being greedy...
he could have had $200.00
has anyone else seen this one yet?

How much cash did you all need to insert in order to get a bonus? I have tried the various DND slots always thinking they can't be all be miserly miserable hunks of metal -- but I have yet to get any bonus rounds at all, on any machine, in any of about 5 casinos I've played them.

I play the 2 cent version of Deal or No Deal at Brighton Seminole Casino, tiny out of the way in the boondocks of Florida. Small Metal building with bingo, restaurant, bar and about 14 poker tables. Regular casino, just in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, over the past year, I've play the D or No D machine on a regular basis, 243x usually 50 floating to 125, over the year or so, I'm up as I track my performance. This machine intrigues me, as I think that the prizes in the bonus round are preset as to the order the machine reports them to you as you pick them. Let say, first time you have to pick five cases, there is a preprogrammed order they appear regardless of what case you pick. First pick is x amount, second x amount etc. You only pick a case like you would just push a single button, and the amount behind the case is predetermined, not random. Anybody want to enlighten me with how this work. I can speculate but if you don't really know, its ok, and you don't need to post. I also found here as well as in Hollywood, Fl, the master machine pays better than the slaves. Just my observation.

The first time I played it I won $100 after a few spins, in the bonus round. The next time I played, won $40 getting the bonus on the first spin. The last time I found a $1/5 line and got into the bonus after about 10 spins, won about $450 in the bonus. I have witnessed the suckiness while watching others play, tho.

We had the old version of this...I never played it because it seemed like such a dud...every time you'd walk by, if there WAS someone playing, they'd be highly torqued off, cussing, and and/or looking miserable.
Now, if I wanted to pay good money to be miserable, I'd get a Brazilian wax job!...

I've played this quite a few times at Delaware Park (the regular 2c version). It's true, that hitting 3 briefcases and making it into the bonus round is a matter of luck but then what isn't? One of the first times I played it I was playing minimum bet on the 243 lines (50c total) and hit the bonus round. I played through to the very end and it turned out I had the top amount (5000 credits for $100). Is that a lot by some people's standards? Probably not but it sure was a helluva lot of fun!
On another visit I hit for over $200 with a 50c bet but that was a lucky spin where there was a wild symbol showing on (I think) every reel. Very exciting! In short, I do tend to put at least $10 into the game if I see it at a casino. That should be enough money to tell you if it's a lucky machine or not.
I thought the way to win was to get the big case but not so i won the $3600 penny and as of today still dont know why just the machine locked up and they said i won so i took the money and ran , have not played it but a couple of times since then.

The game actually states you can win the progressive randomly, so that is what happened. You didn't get any winning may combination, just got luck and hit the progressive randomly. Congrats on that by the way, that is the best when you have no idea why but they are paying you
