Default Busy or Slow Casino

Do you prefer playing slots in a casino that is busy or slow? I think it all depends on my mood. If I played at casinos that are busier would I have a better chance of winning? Does anyone know more information about this?

Personally, I like playing at a slow casino, just because there is less of a chance that someone will be packed in next to me and blowing smoke in my face all night.

As far as advantages to playing in a packed casino, I really don't know if there are any. I assume that the slot's random number generator is going to keep things balanced out. Of course, the more people that play, the better chance there is of the machine eventually paying off somebody.

Because slot payouts are mandated by number of spins if the place is hoopin then moire spins are being played which increases the number of jackpots that will hit. If the machine has to give out one Max Jackpot for every thousand spins - for example - then 100 people spinning will reach the 1000 spin "magic number" much faster than one.

The downside, aside from the crowding and all is that is it is that way for each game (say Gone Fishin, a fav of mine) and the casino has 100 Gone Fishin machines - you have to be at the right one. State gaming regulations vary. Some states they can link all the machines to one payout schedule and some it is per individual machine. Also of note - Tribal Gaming operations are frequently subject to different regulations so knowing a bit about what is required in the state you are playing in helps a lot.

Yep there definitely are more payouts the more people play at the machines. I remember once at the Flamingo there was a woman playing the $1,000 payout $1 slot and she had 8 trays stacked beside her. She had been there all day and had taken 10 jackpots out of the one machine. Obviously, she had put some back but she had only started with $100 so I would say she was well up on the winners scale.

Wow, thanks for all of the great replies. I really didn't know the more players, the higher payouts or more payouts. I would have loved to have been that woman sitting there with stacks of money. Too bad I never get that lucky.

Sometimes you can make your own luck. Knowing what the rules they have to follow are will always increase your chances of winning more. I know a few people that like to go really early on a Saturday - like 2 or 3am, cause if the big payouts haven't been hit by then they can cherry pick machines with fewer crowds to deal with.

I'm afraid I am not that dedicated - but that HAS been the time I seem to win the most on slots or vids. I just really play for fun - but I am always interested in the rules of any game. Knowledge is power! And overall in the almost 22 years I have been legal I have won more than I lost. Not a fortune to be sure - but it beats losing...

Well that is a lot of information and no mistake.
But the more hoopin that goes on doesnl;t that mean the chance is still spread out among the numbers of peple palying?

I like it when it's quieter i can hear myself think. When it's too loud the feeling i get is that i just want some peace and quiet. I also have envy of winning people screaming.

Well, as a follow-up to my previous post, today I was at a Casino and it was the busiest I think I have ever seen it. We go approximately once a month with a group of people on the bus.

I normally play some slots and mostly poker up there but my friends and the rest of the bus usually play on the slots. They were very disappointed in the day for a couple of reasons. One... they had to line up to play the slots they wanted or they had to take something else altogher and Two.... everyone said it was a "Bad Day" at the casino. There were hardly any winners on the bus at all which was really unusual.

So I would guess it depends on the casino you go to and how they have there machines set for busy and slow days.

Having to line up to play the slots sounds like it would really stink.

I am confused that it was both a bad day and the players had to line up at the slots. With demand like that there should have been MORE payoffs. Maybe the electric bill was due
