Default Harrah's Launches Online Slot Finder

Harrahs.com recently launched its "Slot Finder" application, an online search engine aimed at assisting players in locating slot games. The new Internet tool has already garnered much praise within the industry.

The Harrah's site enables searching by location, denomination, game name and game type (video slots, spinning reels or poker), enabling the slot-hungry player to learn, for instance, that Harrah's Laughlin has 45 different penny-slot games.

Harrah's executives emphasized that this is but the first version of Slot Finder, and that further bells and whistles will be added, such as graphic representation of where on the casino floor specific games can be found.

Video poker players will be disappointed to learn that there is no pay table information. The machines could be 10/7 or 6/5, but you'll only find that out after showing up to the casino in person.

It also gives Harrah's another means to incentivize cross-play between its 40-plus casino properties.

Hmmn. Will this application give results only with Harrah's slots?
Do they have online branded slots? Desperate Housewives slots with wedding rings coming up times three?

Well I guess that's interesting enough if you are going to a casino town with a Harrah's in it. However, not knowing all the details until you get there could be a turn off if what you are looking for isn't really there.

But Harrah's doesn't have a good feel for me anymore after the scandal with Frist making illegal gains from getting that gambling on line Bill passed.

No doubt, the search feature only applies to Harrah's across the country. It's by no means perfect, but it might very well inspire other casinos to offer the same service on their websites. If this happens, it should make things very convenient for the player who's looking for a specific game.

A politician getting a kickback under the table?! Say it ain't so.

Good points. I guess if you lived in Nevada there would be a saturation of Harrah's(s) but then again if you lived in Nevada would you really have trouble finding slots?

I live in Los Angeles. If they had a casino I could get into nearby that would be fun.
