I've posted some slot machine payout information in some other threads for different cities and states. Today I'm going to post about the payback percentages for Colorado slots. This information comes from the back of Casino Player magazine, the October 2006 edition, which I just received in the mail a couple of days ago.

The postings include payout percentages for three different locations in Colorado:

• Black Hawk
• Central City
• Cripple Creek

The list ranks slot machine payouts on the following machine denominations:

• Penny slots
• Nickel slots
• Quarter slots
• 50 cent slots
• Dollar slots
• Five Dollar slots

Cripple Creek had the highest payout percentages for three of those categories, and they also had the best overall payout percentage of 94.6%. Central City was 2nd place, with an overall payout percentage of 94.1%. Black Hawk was in 3rd place with a payback percentage of 93.9%.

The best payout on a specific denomination was the $5 slots in Black Hawk, which had a payout percentage of 96.2%.

The section also included the numbers for how many slot machines in each denomination were available in each location. Black Hawk has by far the largest number of penny slots, with 3536 slots. Their payback percentage on the penny slots is only 90.7% though, compared to 92.2% in Central City, and 92.3% in Cripple Creek.

Of course, that's probably to be expected. Black Hawk ha a total of 10,199 slots in the city, compared to 4731 in Cripple Creek, and a scant 1955 in Central City.
