A question about Reel Play machines. For simplicity, I will say that you play minimum (1 credit/line). In all these machines if you get symbols on four reels + the fifth reel the pay off is high. But to play all 5 reels you play 25 credits, and getting symbols on all five reels is difficult. What do guys think of playing 15 x 2 credits (4 full reels + 1 middle spot on the fifth reel) or even playing 7 x 3 credits? Getting symbols on three reels is easy, getting on four bit harder and fifth reel very difficult.

I see people play that way on the Reel Power machines at times, and I never see them get anywhere. Even when they hit bonuses, they win zippo and then they get angry about it. To me, playing a Reel Power machine and not playing all the lines is just a "sucker's bet", like the extra $1 you can plop down in Caribbean Stud Poker or taking insurance in blackjack. You might as well just staple a $20 to the seat and keep walking.

I think that betting this way seem to make the game less volatile. Your winning amount on 3 or 4 of a kind would be bigger, but your chance of winning big is much much lower. Getting 5 of a kind is difficult and limit it to the middle spot on 5th reel make it even harder. Also, more than 1 winning symbol (or wild, if applicable) may appear in other spots on 5th reel. In this case, the big winning suppose to be multiplied, but you get nothing by betting this way.
If you are satisfied with smaller win (if not lose), this approach may be suitable.

I had previously seen Wicked Winnings II at the casino but hadn't bothered playing it, as I usually prefer sticking to Aristocrat games that are 20 - 30 coins max per play. Nonetheless, after reading this thread, I was at the casino today and gave it a try. I didn't have much luck, but to help preserve my bankroll, I played the game a little while at 15 cents a spin, playing only reels 1-4 (as I do on some of the other Reel Power games now and then). Granted, I wasn't able to take advantage of the Power Pay respin or bonus rounds, but I actually did ok and played for quite a while on a small bankroll.

The thing I like about WWII, unlike many of the other Reel Power games, is that there can be more than one of each symbol on a reel which can lead to some very nice payouts now and then. Actually, I was doing pretty well at one point and started playing reels 1-4 at 2 credits per reel (for a total bet of 30 cents per spin).

Here's my question. If I'm not comfortable playing WWII at 50 cents per spin but instead want to limit my bets to 25-30 cents, would you say it's better to play 4 reels at 2 credits per reel (for a total bet of 30 cents) or 5 reels at 1 credit per reel (for a total bet of 25 cents). I did the former today and hit some decent, moderate payouts, but then there were some where I would have benefited from having the entire fifth reel in play. This is nothing else than a matter of opinion, and I'm curious what others would do. Personally, I'm leaning to the 4 reels at 2 credits per reel, as even when I'm not playing the entire fifth reel, the middle symbol is still in play. Plus, any scatters that appear in the grayed out top and bottom positions are still valid for a scatter win.

Anyway, I really enjoyed playing WWII for the first time today, and I look forward to trying it again!

We have played it like that quite a few times. If the machine isn't hitting much, I will play 4 reels on 2x credit bet. Otherwise I will do the 25 cent bet and sometimes a 50 cent bet (still not playing for the bonus rounds.)

They have taken both Wicked Winnings II out of Grand Sierra, my 'home' casino you could say. I'm not sure why, but it was after I hit one for 720.00 off of 50 cents.

Well, I had my first taste of a decent hit on Wicked Winnings II this afternoon - hit 3 ravens x 4 for a nice $20 win. Not bad for a 15 cent investment! I had a number of other decent hits on WW also which kept me winning and playing for a while. Granted, I didn't qualify for any bonus rounds since I didn't play the Power Pay, but I find even the base game really fun to play.

Something I like about WWII as compared to other Reel Power games is that it's possible to get up to get up to three of the same symbol on one reel, whereas on other Reel Power games it's limited to one (or two if you count wild symbols).

I love this game! I played it last month at Black Bear Casino in MN. Didn't win much but I love the new "reel power" games. We went to Turtle Lake casino last week and they have a few of the first edition but they don't have the II yet. Hopefully soon!

I'm curious what the difference is with I and II. I've only seen II, that has the respins and the 15 free spins. What does I have that II doesn't?

1 is the same game without the powerplay features. The bet is only 25 instead of 50 but no free spins feature. That is the only thing I found different but I could be wrong.
