Hi guys, just a few questions that i cant figure out regarding slot machines in Australia
1) In australia we have 1c,2c,5c and $1 5 reel video slots. Most are multiline machines 1-5-10-15-20-25 lines etc with coin bet function of course. Whats the best way to play these machines"? Do you suggest just playing the 1 line or is it better to play 5 10 15 20 or 25 line. Oviously on a 5c machine if you play 25 line each bet would be $1.25 as i seem to go through to much money. 1) how much do you play a machine before you figure out its cold or not a good payer, i use $20,so should i just use $10 and use 1 line or better to use 5 lines or more? Any info would be great,im not after a huge jackpot just alitle bit extra here n there. |

All the experts say that, if you are going to play a multi-line slot machine, you should play all the lines on the slot machine. You can play just one coin for each of the lines, but you should, at a minimum, play all the lines. It can run to a lot of money, especially if there are 25 lines, but you want to maximize your chances to win on a multi-line machine. Of course, you should never play more than you can afford. If you can't afford 25 lines, then you should play machines that don't have that many lines. But, always play all the lines on a multi-line machine.

Thanks for that Ricky, finally how much would you put into a machine or how many spins would it take roughly to find out if the machine is worth staying. Im having abit of trouble picking good machines atm. Ive had some good wins in the past but seem to get caught playing the wrong machines for to long.
So im just trying to work out how to prolong my bankroll and how much to spend before moving machines. |

hooli--
That's one of the key questions for slot players. There's no single strategy for knowing how long to stay at a machine. I've seen people walk up to a machine and hit immediately. Others stay at a machine for a full roll of quarters and they never hit. Others will hit with a single roll of quarters. Probably, if the answer to that question was known, gambling would be a lot easier. I've read in some magazines, that, if you don't hit within the first 10 coins, than you might want to consider moving. But, then again, the next person who sits at that same machine might hit on their first coin. The machines are purely random. Bottom line, you should probably move on when you no longer feel comfortable with a machine. Ricky |

The multi-line slots you play should probably have some sort of bonus round. I tend to play that machine until I hit the bonus, sometimes, this can cost a lot of money. So my new strategy (not necessarily a winning strategy) is: Play all lines, if not, cash out or add more money. Start with a bankroll of 40 x 1 bet.(1c, 25line, 1coin/line, I would start with $10) Cash out if I double the initial bankroll and insert another $10. If I double, cash out and repeat. If I lose that second $10, I would stop and play another machine. Try this...you might be surprised how many cashout tickets you end up with! TOP DOLLAR PLAYER |

If anyone had that answer they could become rich. The slots are random and are random on each and every pull. Anyone that tells you they know the answer to that question...is not telling the truth. No one knows. Now people have posted some very good stategies here in this thread but it boils down to this....... If you play the game at the precise milli-second the random number generator is on a winning combo....you win......if not you loose. It is that simple. A Triple Diamond machine for example.....3 coin game with a92.854% payback chip in it. Top Award is 4000 coins......if three coins were played. The chances of hitting this award ...... (Triple Diamond-TripleDiamond Triple Diamond) is 1 in 93,312 ! That is 1 in 93,312 EVERY pull.

You can accurately calculate a slot machines payback after 10million pulls.
Theoretically if you could wait it out this long you would get anywhere from 85% - 96% payback regardless of the machine you played as that is what is legislated in Nevada. If you can afford to play at this level you might as well buy the casino. If you follow this theory and play the Pick 6 out of 49 style lottos you can guarentee yourself a positve payback by playing every number combination once the jackpot builds to 44mm or greater. I believe that you need 22.8mm as your seed investment. There are however a few gotchas. First if there is a second top prize winner you will lose 12.5mm .... sometimes there are 3 or more winners so this loss could grow wider. Secondly you will have to pay taxes. You will have to show documentation for the 22.8mm of gaming risk for this to help offset the taxable amount to remain positive, your winnings could also be disqualified for "systematic gaming" which is illegal in most powerball states. The Final problem becomes into actually getting someone to scan each of the tickets in. Asumming you have 1 week from lotto to lotto to get this done, and you could do it error free which is an amazing stat in iteself you would need something like 187 clerks entering tickets in 24hrs a day non-stop just to get each of them entered. Systematic gaming is the disqualification of results where you find a way to beat the odds in a non-cheating way. This law was introduced in the early days of scratch and win. The retailers were delivered a box of S&W tickets. Within the box three tickets were elgiable for top prizes. Overall each box created a postive revenue for the retailer. At some point someone figured out that the three winning tickets were always the same three winning tickets and consipered with other reatailers to cherry pick these out the box. Either for personal gain or simply to be shread to further increase the retail value of the box. |
