Default What's your favorite Gambling Movie?

I loved Rounders myself, and also Oceans Eleven although I don't know if it really qualifies as a gambling movie...

Which one did you like best?

My favorite movie is Rounders. The first reason is that I am a huge Matt Damon fan. If you like poker you will love this movie. I own it and watch it quite often. The acting is really good and the cast is great.

I just loved The Colour Of Money. Especially the last pool scene. It was priceless the way it ended.

Even though I expected it to end that way I was surprised it followed the plot the way it did. I was also expecting a twist at the end which didn't materialize.

But the two actors Tom Cruise and Mr. Clear Blue Eyes, Paul Newman (droool) set my heart racing even before they started to play.

Color of Money was good, but it was an updated sequel of sorts and I preferred the original. Funny tho, I never thought of it as a gambling movie... I mean now that I think about it, yeah I guess it is. But, well, I dunno, I don't think of pool the same way I think of poker or other cards games or slots I guess.

The Cooler is one of my favorite gambling movies. I also loved Vegas Vacation and Indecent Proposal. Casablanca is also a classic, and the remake, Havana.

Color of Money is a hard one to beat. In my opinion, Paul Newman is America's greatest actor.

While Rounders is a fine gambling movie, my favorite, hands-down, is Let It Ride. I watch it at least once a year.
Some favorite lines:
"Honey, some people rub me for luck."
"You could be walkin' around lucky and not even know it."
"He pissed it all away!!"

Wasn't that a movie about gambling on the ponies? I think I've seen it, but it has been years and years ago.

I'll tell you one not to see, and that's the TV series Tilt, which came out on ESPN a few years ago. IT's about a group of Texas Hold'em players lookign for revenge, and it stars Michael Madsen as the villain.

Just awful.
