I have been trying to understand how some of the machines work. I don't know when I need to buy a reel. Buy a line or how some of the multipliers or scatters work.
100 line wrap arounds-Buying twenty lines on one reel on a five reel machine is something I was losing money at and not realizing that I needed to buy all the reels. On the Extreme slots by WMS...you have to purchase the 4th and 5th mulitplier by increasing the credit bet on the fourth reel to 5 and if you want the 5th reel you must up it to 10 credits. On the HOT HOT Mechanical reel machines by WMS...you need to use the Hot button and increasing the bet to max....does end up giving you a bigger payout. At what point can you figure how many credits you need to play to activate the whole game. This is hard for me to understand why it is hard to find out what exactly triggers what...!!! How do you know when and what does what??Flower.... Sorry for being stupid.. ![]() |

Hi Flower: You are not stupid ... you are smart. It's very smart to ask other people for help. I really try to stay away from machines that make you pay extra to buy in for the bonus round -- or extra spins, or extra multiplayer. Why? Well, the machine lets you play without the extra bet ... therefore, the base game can be played fine without the extra bet -- but you just will not have a bonus round. However, I do enjoy games like WMS Goldfish, or Aristocrats Cashman games at lower denominations. In general, the top line of buttons tells you how many lines. The right most button on the top line usually maximizes the number of lines, including bonuses (eg. 1 Line, 5 Line, 10 Lines, 15 Lines, 15 Lines + Bonus). The second line, is generally the "bet per line". Although I avoid most progressives ... I avoid (like the plague), progressive machines which require a maximum bet in order to win the big prize. If you take a game like "Gold Fish" -- if the bonus game is stripped out, you can still get into the FISH FOOD bonus. This is very close to the classic JACKPOT PARTY game. /\/\/\/\ the Shamus /\/\/\/\ |

Thank you for the help,
I do like the Jackpot party a lot. When there is a whole row of them or a few side by side. It gets really fun when everyone has the game going and they are really noisy which sometimes adds to the fun! Mystical Fortunes a WMS mechanical reel game does let you use the HOT HOT button for the extra spins which is only a few more cents. I don't mind that game at all. I like trying to match up the bonus spins. They are a lot of fun and full of noise too. It is fun to sit when it does spin and spin. I ended up with 80 dollars and only had put 4 dollars in it. I think WMS did a good job with those machines. I will have not played the Gold Fish one yet. I saw someone play it and it looked like a lot of fun. Flower |

Hi Flower: I think Goldfish at 2-cents is a great game (60-cents total bet/spin). At 5-cents, it is too expensive ($1.50 total bet/spin). Hopefully you have the lower denomination available to you. You reallty have to play all of the lines and the BONUS to get the fun out of that game. I generally love the WMS Gaming products -- although they drop "duds" (eg. X-Treme Slots, Mardi Gras Madness) now and again. /\/\/\/\ the Shamus /\/\/\/\ |
