Can anyone think of some ways to improve the casino experience ... here are some I came up with:
- Give me a way to save my seat for 5 minutes ... while I go to the washroom or whatever. At my local casino, people get in trouble for tipping their chairs. I leave my jacket, or tell the stranger beside me. I've also forgotten my jacket (carrying it around). See, those buckets for coins were good for something! Note to casino: Humans require nurishment, liquids, and trips to the ATM ... if you want us to continue siphoning money into your coffers. From my experience, if you make it something pointy, people will only make the mistake of sitting down without looking once ![]() - Innovative idea ... a garbage can. If you don't like the constant interuptions of "housekeeping" asking you if you are done with a drink (the one you just got 5 minutes ago) ... being able to throw it out on your own will save headaches later. - You deliver drinks, how about something else -- maybe chips. Sure, the machines might get a little greasy ... but it will give the "housekeeping" people something to do ... now that people are recyling their own plastic cups (heaping with ice). - The casino has millions of dollars in cameras and equipment used by security. Since their really are not that many slot cheats with these modern games, lets leverage that technology to get broken machines serviced on a timely basis. Just think --- security calls the slot tech --- the tickets have run of out machine, XYZ, please refill. Cutting edge idea. Anyone have more suggestions? /\/\/\/\ the Shamus /\/\/\/\ |

I don't have any ideas just yet, however, as to the seat saving. I am well known for having a "change" attendant to watch my seat while I go to the washroom. This really works in Las Vegas. I have been known to be on a machine for 2-3 hrs if it is good to me and I ask the attendant (I have yet to have one tell me NO) to watch the seat and tip them before I leave. Just recently I had an attendant watch my machine and she called it in over your walkie talkie, "I am watching machine ### and the current credits are $$$$. I never trust asking a stranger if I have $$$ in the machine.

Hi Mostly Slots:
I think you are doing things by the book. If you ask the casino, they will tell you to call a slot attendant. However, if everyone followed this process, they would not have near enough slot attendants on the floor. As a side now, there seems to be honor among casino patrons. I have not been ripped off yet --- in the hundreds of times I have walked away from my machine for a few minutes. /\/\/\/\ the Shamus /\/\/\/\ |

I will watch the machines next to me for anyone who needs to leave for a few minutes - but I have been known to come close to diabetic coma/wetting my pants before I'll leave a hot machine.
Of course, I don't actually ever get a hot machine all that often! Just today I was wishing desperately for a little snack, though... |

Oh, there are plenty of them at my local casino, but many of the other patrons are incredible slobs and leave their garbage strewn around for the attendants to pick up. And don't get me started on some of the pigs who use the ladies' room - ugh! Kate |

They have a coat check at our casino that I never use because a lot of times the machine I want to play is directly under the AC….so I also carry my coat around…I‘ve never forgotten it though, because I live in northern Minnesota and I‘d surely remember the moment I stepped outside and saw all the snow, hehe.
I’ve never gotten in trouble for tipping my chair…lol, a lot of times I’ve done that and come back to find it slid out of place and just laying there on the floor. Oh well…I usually don’t go to the casino when it’s busy, for many reasons this being one of them. I usually cash out when I gotta go to the bathroom, and when I come back my machine is usually still open because it’s so “dead” at the time. My reg casino has little waste baskets inbetween most of the slot machines…they pack em in tight though. I hate how crammed up it is there’s some machines that it’s nigh impossible to set down your drink because there’s no room. I’m not sure about chips, because they are so messy and greasy, and all those crumbs on the floor will add up faster thank you might think, and I’m sure even with good housekeeping it’d get out of their control, especially during busy times and then many of the patrons would be complaining about the unpleasant mess on the floor. I do agree with you though, it would be nice if they offered some sort of snack to go along with those complimentary beverages. At my casino, they usually have good deals at the deli, they often send me coupons for five/ten dollars off at their deli or restaurant. If I'm there with friends we'll combine our coupons to get a free pizza, and take it with us over to machines while we play...I've seen other people do this as well, the casino doesn't seem to mind.
