Default Do Indian casinos loosen/tighten slots during the month???

This thought occurred to me after visiting the same two casinos within a 2 week period. I made a visit the last weekend in March and sat. eve was packed and people were winning. Saw several handpays and lots of smaller, nice payouts. I went just this past weekend and half the people were there...not much winning. I know the winning could be relevant to the number of people playing, but something kept people away last weekend. There were promotions being run on both weekends... any thoughts??? This was in Oklahoma...

    Thanks for the input...
    Peace and Jackpots to all,

    Jon

To answer your question Handpayhopeful................no they dont loosen slots, cause the machines are run buy a computer .......every computer is linked to one or several servers, and each machine has a number generator, once the money is put in,it locks on that pasific lot number, which has thousands of combinations
that is why u can red spin sverl times, a tech machine tech told me this off duty when i first started to go to oklahoma, you were probally at first council, that is where i play........... so i hope that answer s your question............if u wan tot know more pm me.............. i have some insight on how the machine works

My Daughter and I took a trip and played side by side on the same games. I had her pick what machine she wanted first then sat to her right. She lost and I came out ahead. It was bizarre, nothing she played was paying, and I was getting tons of bonuses.

If there is an "adjustment" made to games, I wonder if it would be on or near pay days when people have more money.

I believe that in order to loosen or tighten the machines one would need to access the machine's logic box. The logic box is basically analogous to a computer tower; that's where the motherboard/hard drives/etc. are. In the casinos run by the tribe in Oklahoma I work for (can't say which one, they might get a bit upset), the logic box carries a tamper-evident, numbered seal which is issued by the Gaming Commission. To replace the seal, a new one has to be applied for which causes the Gaming Commission to ask all sorts of questions about why the old one was broken. The Gaming Commissioners also periodically check to make sure the seals are intact. So I would hazard a guess that it would be way too much trouble to mess with the payout percentage that often. More likely you're just seeing high-volatility slots just not paying out.

thunderslot: What you say is true for Class II slots (VGT, AGS, Multimedia, Rocket). Class III slots (Aristocrat, IGT, WMS, etc.) carry their own RNGs in tribal casinos just like any slot machine in Nevada.

I noticed that whenever I come on a Friday/Sat/Holiday, I never win anything. When I gamble on the floor by myself at 3am, I make a decent amount.

Yes, I used to think that casinos would really would change payouts during certain times. People told me that happened all the time so it must be true, right?

Well once I learned how slots really work I realized that no, they don't change them out. Its just all random and luck. Now with server based gaming, they will be able to do that, but I don't know of any NA casinos that have this installed yet.

I feel the same way too most of the time. I finally realized why. When its busy, I'll just sit and play any machine that is open just to play. Its usually not a machine I want or like or win often on. I may lose, but put even more money in and lose that since there really isn't anything else around to play.
At 3am, or other times when the casino is empty and I can play anything, I feel like I tend to win also. I think that is because knowing that you can change the way you play. There are some machines that seem to pay out better, and I can play them at 3am. Also, if I get a decent win on a machine, I am less likely to play it back, I can cash out and play something else. Also, if I'm not doing well on a machine, rather than continuing to lose I can move on. I trust my "gut" more when its empty than when its crowded, seems to work better.

Well Scotts5114, well all casinos in oklahoma are server based, wether it is on site or in another stae, or part of the state, i believe first council has its own server, and it is impossible or near impossible to tamper or set up for tighter slots on a server based casino, now if it is true u do work in one then u should no that slots machines run by server cant be loosened or tightens manually, if it can happen it has to happen on a cumputer and the number generator.......... and to KDK server based machines would be awfully hard to change pay out percentages, look at Scotts5114 answer, most server based casino's in oklahoma have those logic boxes with the tamper resistant locks, so no they cant change pay out percentages unless it is an act of god and they can get through the red tape the gamming commision puts on them.......... i wil have to say it is harder to win when the place is packed, this past saturday night first council was frikin packed due to the MMA fights......and people were winning but not alot of jack pots, but just big payouts, i myself lost but 3 of the 5 people that went with us did well. so it probally does matter how many people are playing at one given time, but each game has its own number generator, so it is is still just luck.......... Unless you play at an Native American casino, it is hard to grasp all the technology that is involved , i have just looked around and studied and i have talked with a tech, who taught me alot in the little time we spent chatting, now the older stye machines coin operated, u can set to loose or tight, that is before the technology came in............
