    Default Reasoning behind comps..

I know play through is the main thing taken into consideration in this..
My wife and I just came back from spending a week in Laughlin..
And the following thing happened that has me scratching my head ever since.

We stayed/played for the most part at the Tropicana, between the two of us our play through must have resulted in give or take 5/6k $.

1 of our nights we diverted our attention briefly to the Aquarius hotel. Both played around a 100, i won a small progressive and remained around 100. She went up and down for a while and then train wrecked down. Play through for her must have been 150/200 tops.

We had players cards at both places and used them at both places.

At the tropicana we became a "gold" member and got a 5$ cash back coupon from their players club.
At the Aquarius about 2/3 weeks after we came home, she got mailed an offer for 3 free nights and 100$ in free slot play.

We do really enjoy the Tropicana but i can safely say that i probably will be taking my "business" elsewhere in the future.
Any thoughts or other messed up experiences?

Interesting experience. You know as long as I have been on the is forum this has been a hot topic. We still are having a hard time trying to figure out just exactly what the deal is. We do know that each casino does things differently but sometimes it seems to leave you scratching your head for sure. No rhyme or reason it seems! Just know that you are not the only one confused by the way they seem to do things!

What Deb said, we don't know. lol. I know we have a couple casino hosts who are members here. Maybe one of them can give you an answer, however they seem to avoid threads like this because their marketing departments act like this is a top secret taboo subject or something. Coin in doesn't seem to matter anymore, time played doesn't seem to matter either. You can have two players spend the same amount of money for the same amount of time, and even in the same casino and one will get the comps and the other won't.

I agree with what was said above, its such a tough thing to figure out. I will say that I went to Aquarius for the first time about a year and a half ago and played all day, won $1150 on a machine, and put most of it back and they only sent me a free night and $15.
I will say though that you might get something in the mail from Tropicana still for a lot more. I used to get some decent offers from them and didn't play that much there.
Aquarius might be trying to up their promos right now for some reason too, maybe to get you back.

Wow, this is crazy. Im a loyal Tropicana player in Atlantic City and they have by far offered me some amazing comps over the years compared to anyone else. I would suggest calling and asking to speak with a slot host. It sounds almost like there is a mistake somewhere. If they do not offer you some sort of resolve I would honestly take my business elsewere. If you enjoyed your stay their, I would first reach out though and give them the opportunity to make it right....

Good luck, I hope you keep us updated!
The safest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it in your pocket....but that wouldnt be much fun!

Might give this a try, however its only been a few weeks so not sure if i should give them some more time or not.
I do understand a lot of them send them out periodically so i guess i'll wait and see for a little bit and then try and give them a call.
It's not so much the issue of not receiving them, more the fact that we felt more appreciated by aquarius then we did by tropicana and that was quite a turn off.

Well many of us just got back from Treasure Island in LV for our Meet and Greet and the offers seem to be still trickling in. Our trip was April 7th and we just got our offer yesterday from Treasure Island so it did take a month. Honestly, it is SO hard to tell. I really do not think this is something any of us will be able to figure out! LOL

I totally know what you mean! When you have that kindof of play through you want to know that your business was appreciated. My hope is that a nice offer will come your way soon from them. Good luck!

When you say that you stayed at Tropicana, where you brought in on an offer ? That may be the main difference, 1 casino most of your play would be just covering the offer you were brought in on. Compared to the other casino, where you just walked in. I used to do a lot of walk-in play to build up the offers the casino would bring me in on.

No we were not brought in on an offer.
Both of them were just walk in basically, as we paid for our room and had no offer with either of them.
