I play mostly 1-2.00 machines. Been skunked with a 200. BR a few times but never with 5+ BR.

Thanks for the info. Will be curious to hear Joey's spin on VF, too. It is actually a bit closer than the Sands for me...but why would I drive PAST parx for such a small gaming floor?
I don't set the world on fire at parx, but can at least get on a great variety of machines, and be there in 35 mins.

I have been to the Valley Forge Casino twice this month. Sure they are small but they were not crowded at all. Everyone there is very nice and helpful. Granted you will never be able to take a picture of your wins because there was more staff than customers LOL. To me it feels like my own private casino! They have a varied amount of slots. Some of the latest like Grease and Tarzon and lots of the older machines too like WW2. Also the machines are pristine. No marks or crap all other them. I feel it is worth the entry fee. Anyone who is local should give a try. JMHO

Went to the new Valley Forge Casino Resort today near King of Prussia, PA. Brought $1200 with me hoping to win some playing the $5 and $25 slots. I stuck primarily to the Wheel of Fortune games because that is literally all they had in those denominations. I couldn't believe what they called their "high limit" section, there was about 15 machines in the entire section and they were all stupid games I've never even heard of....and they all sucked. Anyway, I loaded $500 into the $5 WOF, played max bet which is 3 credits per spin and went thru my entire bankroll without hitting ANYTHING at all. Put another $200 in and same story. I got up, told security how much the casino blew and walked right out the door, never to be back.

ALSO...I believe they are all server-based because there was a problem with one of the machines and they had to open up the bottom cabinets, and all I saw were NetGear ProSafe ethernet switches, and tons of CAT5 wires going all over the place. Unreal -- that means there is a server somewhere that people are controlling everything.

Great report but you went in with a pretty small bankroll to play $5 and $25 slots. Your risk of ruin with that bankroll is huge. To put it in perspective at the $5 machine you were playing max you had 80 bets. Now I play much less than you and on my particular favorite games that costs 40 cents to play that would only be $32 worth of play. Many times the machines take that in no time. Other times I get some wins and keeps me going. But if I went with just $32 I would be done most of the time in less than 30 minutes. But hey you took a shot and I admire that and it didn't work out this time. Better luck next trip.

I was thinking along those lines. When I play slots - I don't like crowds, drama and tons of noise.
Can you report on the smoki-ness condition? Are the ceilings high, low - how was the ventilation?

Yes it was a "small" bankroll, however I'd rather take a shot at winning a big ticket prize than sitting there playing the quarter machines with a top prize of 5 grand. I've stuck $500 in a machine before and walked out with $20,000 on my last spin, so I'm kind of glued to these machines now!

well, sure, you can take a shot at it.

but you can't run $700 through a WOF (presumably it was a progressive, which generally means it has a lower return), hit nothing and then declare the casino sucks. traber is absolutely correct; the bankroll is pretty modest for a $5 machine. and your sample size is a drop in the bucket compared to the millions of pulls you might need to get an accurate sense for the true payback of the machine.

as for all the wiring and ethernet cables and such... every slot machine has that. the players club data is communicated to a "server," even for machines that are networked in a "server based" gaming environment. they could be server based machines, they could not be. but the presence of network equipment does not necessarily mean the machines are part of a "server based" gaming network.
