Default Free Play Mohegan Sun pays off...again :)

I'm gonna use these $75 free play coupons if it kills me!

I have several free play coupons good for single days this month at Mohegan Sun, and unfortunately they are all work days for me.

I got off work at midnight Thursday; took 2 am bus to Mohegan Sun; arrived around 4:30 AM. I couldn't use my free play until 6 am, so after a quick stop at the Krispy Kreme bakery for some caffeine and donuts I walked from the Casino of the Earth to the Casino of the Wind -- the two points farthest from each other.

I decided to put $100 of my own money into play. I found the Jackpot Stations across from Star Bucks. Chris -- there are at least 17 JPS at Mohegan Sun. I played about 7 of them. While people on either side of me were hitting bonus rounds, I got nothing, nothing, nothing. I followed your advice and didn't invest more than $20, but I had 3 different banks of machines to invest in. At the last machine I tried I finally hit a bonus round, playing 90 cents, that retriggered 11 times. It seemed like the bonus went on forever. My final total: $12.60 I won bigger amounts on reel spins.

I swore I wasn't going to play WMS on these blitz runs, but I'm helpless when faced with their machines. I saw a Dirty Harry and just "had to try it," but unlike other Dirty Harry machines this one was in a bonus/retrigger bonus mood. I put in only $10 but took out around $70. I had one bonus round that went on for a good ten minutes, it was getting ridiculous. It was fun, though.

Then, like a moth to flame, I saw the bank of Star Trek machines with no one on them. I went to four of the six machines. Although I hit a couple bonus rounds they amounted to very little. At my last $30 I decided to bet $1.05 until the credits ran out. I really had little expectation. Then I got a win warp Enterprise Fly By that awarded me all three jackpots:

I was dumbstruck, but happy. I played down to $300 even and then cashed out.

For my free play I tried Stinkin' Rich which fooled me by awarding me $52 on a reel spin with scatters my second spin. I used up the rest of my $25 free play and got nothing, but I was $52 ahead.

Then I played the 5x pay reel that was good to me last visit. I put in $20 of my free play, and took out $50.

I am embarrassed to say I then lost $50 on Time Machine. I got a bonus and picked the stinker prize of cash (was around $7). I hate that on WOZ and I hate it on these machines, too. It makes me feel cheated out of my bonus. Lord knows it is often ice ages (and mucho dinero) between bonus round hits. It really left me feeling angry not to get the entertainment of having a bonus.

I also lost $60 trying out three Star Wars machines that were evil.

I put $20 into a 3 quarter Wheel of Fortune and cashed out $30. There was a man sitting there playing 3 machines at once.

I had time to get a quick breakfast, and at 9 AM it was time to get the bus home. There was traffic and other tie ups, so I didn't get home until nearly 1 PM. I slept from 1 to 3, and then got ready for work. Strangely, I didn't feel exhausted until now.

I didn't keep very good track of all my wins/losses, but I had $100 of my own cash and $75 free play and I came home with $388 in cash.

Another run Monday. I'd better get some sleep.

Very interesting. Gosh you do so well on Star Trek, it amazes me. That game really likes you. I think you did great with your bankroll. Thanks for attaching the pic of your cool win on ST too. That game can be so cool. Other times it can be brutal but I guess they all can! On Monday are you going to do your experiment? Just curious.

By they way Time Machine is a neat game but I think it is like WOZ and the wins are really hard to come by. That is a shame really. I really like Dirty Harry it is fun to play but like ST, TM, and WOZ it can be disappointing ....

Good luck on Monday. I LOVE your trip reports!

Oh, man...if you had bet 350 credits...it would have been a big win right there. Huge.

    Nice win, though.

This is a painful subject for me. :-(

The Time Machines are in the Casino of the Earth, just past "Hall of Lost Tribes" and across the aisle from the table game "Wheel of Fortune" (where everyone uses their free bet coupons). There is a carousel of 4 machines. They have replaced my dear Top Gun machines, and the slot tech I spoke to told me "Top Gun is gone."

I really do have a love/hate with Star Trek. Your assessment of "brutal" is fair.

I do plan to stick to the machines I can rely on with my free play. I won't play Star Trek or Time Machine with free play dollars. I have promised myself! The wins are more reliable on the reel machines and older IGT. I can pretty much count on inserting $20 and pulling out $50 on those machines. I am looking to double my free play money, and if I do better than that I'm really happy.

I had planned to eschew Star Trek, Time Machine, Dirty Harry and even Jackpot Station, but there they were -- not another player anywhere (except on JPS). How could I resist? Deb, WMS machines are like crack, I swear. Once a player has tasted them withdrawal is the pits!

There are 3 levels of progressive jackpots you can hit by getting the little Star Fleet insignia (triangle thingies). Lowest one is usually $15 or so, the next level is $50 or so, and the top one is usually a couple hundred. On this win I hit all three. It wasn't multiplied by line bet. The totals would have been higher for a max bet, but not by that much.

In any case, I was down to my last $5 or so on credits. This hit was when I was running on empty.

Miz... crack is right. I do know what you mean. It was hard for me not to play them too this past weekend. One IGT game that I do NOT recommend is the new Star Wars. The multi-level progressives that look like R2D2. IMO they were awful. My husband insisted on playing them over and over when we were at RR and I told him not to. Turns out he ended up losing his last $100 in them.
