Default Do you think a certain slot manufacturer pays better ...?

    Hi Folks:

Regulars are tired of me saying this ... but I'll say it once more. Theoretical payback percentage for slot machines is selected by the casinos. Over the long haul, slot machines set at the same payback percentage will pay back very similar amounts to players. Of course, there is a going to be a huge variance in how the slot pays back the money (frequent smaller hits vs infrequent larger hits) -- but this is all down to a player's personal preference.

That said. Some people do not believe me. In fact, we may find I am in the minority.

Do you think that one manufacture's games pay more than another manufacturer? If so ... why do you think that? If not ... why you think players perceive one manufacturer's games pay more than another?

Perhaps the best place to start is in admitting that NO machine "pays." All machines (with the exception of certain video poker machines) are set to take in more money than they give out.

If a machine was set to always pay back 92c on a dollar every single time, no one would ever play it. So, I would suggest that the higher in volatility a machine is, the greater the overall perception that it "pays", up to a certain point, where the machine becomes "too" volatile, and the perception starts to swing the other way. Where that curve reaches its apex is probably a point of personal preference for each player.

We've actually been rocking out on Great And Powerful Oz here lately, of all things. I'd say that while I personally have been very lucky on WWII, I don't think any manufacturer tends to pay better or worse. I've actually been enjoying WMS games quite a bit more here lately, though I do still love me some Aristocrat Reel Power machines.

In my experience Aristocrat and Konami games pay the best. At least it seems that way anyway! LOL

Thats what I thought when I realize that once-in-a-while a company like Aristocrat comes out with a garbage slot game like Jaws Bounty Hunter so there are always exceptions to the patterns that some slot makers are known for.

Right but see I don't play the gimmicky games. Remember? To me less is more. That is my slot motto!

    Hi Folks:

The posts have been interesting. I liked Slotty Girl's post.

If you all accept the fact that the games do pay the same amount out to players (just with a different math model) -- then why do not many people think that one manufacturer pays more than another?

For example -- some players will suggest that CHINA SHORES or WICKED WINNINGS 2 pays more than other games. Why does it feel that way to players?

Okay but the way I read Slotty's post is that she is in it for entertainment. With WMS that would definitely be the case. WMS I would say would fit that bill. Now, I have thought about this thoroughly and while I do like the entertainment of gambling in general, I would have to say that I am more in it for the win. Some games are more "gamblers" games than others. Since I like higher vol games, I would have to say that I choose the "gamblers" game more than the entertainment game. China Shores and WW2 are both definitely "gamblers" games. With those games it's pretty much all or nothing. I don't care for a dribble here and dribble there..... that irritates me more than entertains me. Through the years (20 yrs) I have played just about every manufacturers games and for years I also avoided Aristocrat games because I was naive about how they worked and since they didn't look or seem entertaining, I didn't play them. Now, since so many games are geared toward entertainment, I have found myself choosing games that are NOT entertaining. I hope this makes sense! Again....... less is more
