I always say, closer is better. Not sure where you live and how far your drive is, but Happy Anniversary.

Sorry, We live in South Alabama, but tired of the class II games.Willing to travel for best experience.Several trips to Biloxi,MS have broken my heart and my bank account so want to try something different this time.Scared of Harrah's after looking at reviews, but I know most of them are from bitter people that might have lost.....Tampa looks promising, but can you ever know for sure?

Haven't been to HRock Tampa but have been to HR Hollywood Florida and it was great! Liked the casino/games a lot, the rooms were also wonderful. I would guess that Tampa would be very, very similar. Good luck in your decision and Happy Anniversary!

I've been to Hard Rock Tampa a couple of times and really liked it. Big place, lots of games. There is a center bar that is elevated--great fun to have a drink and people watch. Their Council Oak steakhouse is superb. You can select your own cut of meat, and they serve bone marrow--one of the few places I have ever seen it on the menu--delicious! I have read complaints on this forum though that it is tight. I found it like most other casinos--you win some, you lose some . . .

I used to play the nickel version at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas back in the '90's for hours! If you got
the "rainbow" on the first, third and fifth reel you got to go to "Rainbow Land" (which I visited many times!).
There was also a little bonus when you got three gold coins and they would jump around for a certain number
    of credits.
