Take it from someone with Noir status. It means nothing. Just gets you a discount at the gift shop. Play as you normally would don't chase status. Learn from my mistakes, lol.

It might mean nothing to you... but for us mortals a few thousands tier credits could be the difference between statuses.

I'm platinum status, I have no plans to chase Noir, but with only a couple of Vegas visits per year a few thousand extra tier credits can help me maintain my level.

I really don't see what your problem is... If a person is visiting the casinos anyway and just by tapping an app they can get some extra credits... if they are in one of the lower statuses then I would recommend it.

Check in? How do you check in at each casino? Is it like at CET with a kiosk?

Huh? I don't have a problem... The OP said that you can get comp $$$ for checking in. I corrected them. Also did you read the part where I mentioned it was a mistake chasing Noir. I'm not any more important than anyone else... geez.

From my understanding, in order to reach Noir status at MGM you have to have a theoretical loss of 100k a year or have actual losses over 150k. I would think the casino would pamper a player with such status and indeed give more than just a discount at the gift shop. I do agree chasing tier status at most casinos is pointless. A lot of people think just because their level is higher that they will get better comps/freeplay which isn't always the case. Admittedly I've chased a higher level card before then when I achieved it I was disappointed that my offers never went up and went down or stayed the same. Some casinos you move up card levels fast and some it takes months and lots of coin through. An example was the Montbleu in Lake Tahoe. In one day I moved up two tiers with mostly lower bets and at my local it takes thousands of dollars coin through to move up even one level.

You need to earn 1,000,000 tier credits in a year to get NOIR not have a theo of 100k or actual loss of 150k. I got to NOIR the first week of january and I can guarantee you I didn't lose 150K at mgm resorts last year. I earned most of my points low rolling on Aristocrat machines although when I sit down and play I could stay on the same 1 or 2 machines for 4 hours or more and last year I was playing 4 or 5 days a week.
