Got my first hand pay FINALLY!! Was at Downstream Casino outside of Joplin, Mo.....brought $200 and had been basically playing $5 to $10 in various machines, without any luck. Was down to my last $20 when I played a .50 "Squirrel Gone Nuts" VGT machine....these machines have red screen wild spins...this is an Indian Casino...so these slots are Bingo game based...(love 'em!) This is a 3 reel machine. Anyway, we live 3 hours away and had only been there about 4 hours, and I normally try to play all night...so I wasn't doing very well at that point as you can see...was looking at probably pouting in the room for the remainder of the night.
I normally give a machine 10 spins and see if I get anything...if not, I move on. In this case on about the 5th spin I get the wild red spin and it stays red for 2 spins instead of just 1...with these type of machines the more red spins you get in a row, the largest the payout! Anyway, I ended up with $225 which was more than my starting bankroll!! So yeah, I'm back to being able to play and not go to the room!!
Then once again I'm on the downward spiral and back to $117...why oh why, can't I ever seem to move upward once I hit something, instead of always having to grind from behind again????? <sigh> I might add I didn't stay on the machine I hit on, on these type of machines, once you get several red spins in a row, it normally is a LONG time before the machines starts hitting again.
Bingo based machines do NOT have stand alone RNG's in them, they are all programmed to be played Bingo against the other players in the casino...sometimes several sister casinos are all linked together on the same software, so you might be playing bingo against 1,000's of other players.
So not having any luck moving from one VGT machine to another, I decide to try some penny machines....there is a bank of 4 "1 cent" machines, 2 "Sirens" and 2 "Cave King" machines....they are the same except for the graphics...you must get 3 Bonus symbols and then while in the Bonus round hope to get the multiplier, or your Bonus normally isn't worth squat.
Remember I had started with a ticket of $117...I was at $112 when I hit the bonus...I had been alternating my bet back and forth between .30 and .60...when I was on a .60 bet I got the bonus, but I got 4 bonus symbols instead of 3, with 3 symbols you get 7 free spins, with 4 you get 10...playing this machine before, rarely do you ever get the multiplier with only 7 free spins...with 10 free spins I was thinking, just maybe I'd get it....and WOW!!! On the 2nd free bonus spin the screen came up all Cave King's which are WILD and one of the highest paying symbols for $400+, I still had 8 more free spins and just hit small wins, but I DID get the multiplier and it was for 3x...I ended up with a handpay of $1,480.20 on a .60 bet!!!!!! WOWSER!!!!
So with my remaining $112.00 I was definitely ahead for once....I stayed on the machine and played off $12 of the remaining $112.00, but didn't hit anything....I continued down the bank of the Sirens and the other Cave King machine playing $10 in each, but no luck.
I ended up bringing home $1400.00 after playing 24 straight hours!!!!!
That's my best and longest playing session in the 3 years that I've been playing!!
