    Default AC Coin

    Hi Folks:

Curious if anyone has seen anything interesting from AC Coin since they split off from IGT?

    Shamus,

We just installed 34 brand new games from AC Coin and they are all very popular.

We have all different kinds. We have three of the 3-machine with video screen games, Love Bug, Super Big Game Show, and Slingo. We have a 6-game Super Bankroll Bonus, six Slotto ball poppers, and 15 "Big Rollers" which have tall top boxes with bonus features.

The new ones have only been on the floor for a month while 6 had been on the floor for years.

I really liked Return of the Munny. I thought it was cute and it bonused often. It doesn't pay all that great but I was able to play for quite a while on little money. I believe I doubled my $20 when I played.

    Hi CoushattaSlots,

I'd be interested to see how the AC Coins are performing a few months from now. I have heard & seen AC Coin games to do very well in the beginning, but after a time fall off real quickly. I know that could be said for a lot of games & manufacturers - but from my experience it was more prevalent with AC Coin.

I'm not trying to bad mouth AC Coin, in fact I like that their games seem to have higher hit frequency (in base game) & decent payback percentages. The problem is (maybe should appears the problem is) their bonus games don't have that high of awards. If they aren't going to hit often, don't make the award so low. For example I have seen on their older games (Super Bankroll, etc) awards of from $.25 - $2.00 x bet per line, which really isn't much. I know there are many games that don't pay sometimes in bonus (especially WMS free spins), but the hit frequency of bonuses seems to be much higher.

I hope AC Coin does find success, always glad for competition amongst manufacturers. And Deb, I had heard and saw (when I used to be in gaming operations) the Munny Returns was a very popular game - maybe because it bonused often. But of course as you noted the bonus doesn't pay well. Maybe if someone from AC Coin is on this board they will take note about low payouts in bonuses. I actually used to tell them that myself.

    Meted,

I agree 100%. I've seen the same drop off in the past. The last few we've tried, Return of the Munny and Slingo have really impressed us over the last year so I decided to go deeper into their catalog. There is a big difference now though, as the games can now be purchased instead of leased. In the past they were always lease only.

They have moved to high frequency bonuses on most of their games and, of course, the higher the frequency the smaller the actual bonuses are going to be. I spend a good deal of time watching our Super Bankroll Bonus game, a 6 game round with a huge top box that rotates around when someone gets into the bonus. In this bonus, the whole contraption rotates around and stops on one column. Then individual lights go up and down illuminating the possible wins. Some are as low as 75 credits. What you're hoping for is for it to land on the multiplier, in which case you get another spin. The highest I've seen is one lady hit $720 in the bonus with 200 credits bet ($.02 game, $4.00 wager)

Yes, I agree the bonuses don't pay all too well BUT when you can play a game for awhile w/o having to keep reinserting money, I don't mind as much. I too have seen AC Coin games fade quickly. Many times I have seen the banks empty one that comes to mind recently was the Game Show one. It was new and empty. Bummer but to be honest, I didn't play it because it didn't catch my eye like the Munny game. Interesting information from Meted and CoushattaSlots, thank you

    Default Small bonus ...

    Hi Coushatta:

AC Coin makes so many specialty games ... you almost hate to own anything that mechanical. Their original Slotto games were very popular, but the ball popping eventually broke down, the globe could become opaque from wear. It also exposed the fact that the popping balls were just for decoration (a copy of every ball was inside the machine to display in the window).

PS - One positive about their machines ... I feel like I can bet bigger on their machines ... without losing my bankroll in record time.

Can anyone direct me to a supplier where I can purchase pre-owned AC Coin machines? Thanks.

jlt, I don't think you're going to be able to find any AC Coin machines on the used market. They used to be lease only up until late last year. So, since casinos couldn't buy them until late last year it's unlikely that any casino would have purchased them so recently and then wanted to get rid of them so soon. Not impossible of course, but very unlikely.
