Thumbs down IGT Cave King & Sirens

Yesterday I stopped @ Empire City on my way to run my usual Saturday errands. This past Tuesday when I was there I saw them activating the new Cave King and Sirens slots. I started with $40 and within an hour I had $120, the payouts were frequent, including bonuses; the bonus has a multiplier if you are able to collect all the letter of the words "CROWN" or "BONUS" respectively. With a 60 cents bet, I got an $82 payout on the bonus. Today, we stopped again, thought "hot new machines" ... my strategy was to start each play with $10, when it 2 times cashed out and move on. Well this turned out to be a disappointment. The machines were DEAD cold. After $30 I walked away. It's a rainy day, so I hang around in the casino for a few hours, observing the payouts from other players playing them, ZILCH. That's what I called machines went from hot to sub-zero. Thanks to Tikki Torch and Peacock Magic for the return of my $30.

We went to church, then to breakfast and stopped at the casino ... bad idea, the Lord was upset.

Jenn: It is probably as you mentioned elsewhere that the summer is slow. If you don't feed the chickens, you can't get any eggs! Everything slows down, the poker and table games as well. I always like October onwards as Sept. is costs for people with kids returning to school, and so on, so less money up.

Well at least you had a good run on them the first time right? Sometimes you just never know the temps of the slots!!! Better luck next time Jenn!

    Hi Jenn:

I'm not a big fan on SIRENS and CAVE KING. I have not seen a jackpot yet ... although I can see where it is possible. I have never won the muliplier ... and even if you do, there is a very possible chance there is not much to multiply. The letters in the word BONUS do not match any symbols (they become "blockers"). I can't complain about the frequency of BONUS ROUNDS ... but tiling those SIRENS for the big money is a tough order.

This game is a little too efficient at grinding down my bankroll.

On my recent trip to Kansas I stopped at the new (state run) Boot Hill Casino and played Sirens for the first time. On the 3rd spin I got $40.80 as a bonus. Sirens and the 50 Lions games I played were good to me while everything else just took my money and gave nothing back. I played the Buffalo game I am seeing mentioned on this forum but it too was greedy and kept without giving.

I totally agree with Shamus. I've played both, usually when the casino is really crowded and they're the only empty seats. This explains why! I've played more Sirens than Cave King, and Sirens really has the potential to pay well, it just never does. The few times I've gotten the bonus, I've NEVER spelled BONUS. Don't you get like only 5 spins or something? When a machine (like the Stackers type) only have 5 spins, I figure that the line wins generally will far surpass the bonuses for the most part, and it's just that; a bonus.

Not my faves, by a long shot.

    LOL! That's funny!
May 16th is "Wear Purple for Peace Day"

The goal of Wear Purple for Peace Day is to make the world a peaceful place and, of course, encourage alien species to make contact with earth.

(Lots of alien days in this Holiday LIst that I use. Or maybe it's because I was so close to Roswell yesterday!)

Congrats on your hit on them the first time around. I've played them and even with the multiplier did not get very much.

Thanks for the report. You could have done a lot worse and don't worry, the Lord will forgive you.

At least you went to Church first, LOL. You just never know with the slots whether they will be hot or cold. Sorry they were cold for you this trip, but better luck next time.

Hmmm ... I wonder how much religious credibility you have ... there is some questionable imagery in Wicked Riches I and II.
