    Default PARX Casino

    Hi all,

I will be visiting this casino in a few weeks on a Saturday. Can anyone tell me anything about this casino? What is the parking situation? Do they have shuttles that take you from your car to the door? The parking lot looks huge. Or is it better to valet park? It it safe at ngiht? Do they have a lot of security there? Will it be really crowded on a Saturday, will I be able to get on any machines? Do they offer free drinks while playing.
I would be thankful for any tips or info that you could give me. Thanks

    Hi Foote
The best place to start is by reading the reviews on American Casino Guide. There are only 1 type of reviews - all bad! The main problem with this casino is that the paybacks are poor and they really don't care about the customer due to their prime location.

Very beautiful casino. It is styled like a Las Vegas casino. If you live in the tri-state area, the closest casino in look and appeal would be Borgata - Atlantic City. The parking is open parking, not a garage and no they discontinued the shuttle service about a month after the place opened. Security is pretty decent. Yes, it will be very crowded on Saturday just like every other casino around the world. Yes, you will be able to get on machines, maybe not your favorite, but you will. They have about 3,400 machines and I might add the best selection...other than SugarHouse...at present they have the best machines because there are new themes. Parx offers plenty small progressive machines you may want to try your luck on...they have all of the standards - Wheel of Fortune, Goldfish, Hot Jackpots, Ebay, Monopoly, Konami, Aristocrat, WMS Gaming and IGT. The variety of machines is varied...it is primarily a 1 cent casino. However, they have 5c on up to 100 dollar machines. As for beverage...TAKE YOUR OWN. You have a better chance getting an ambulance to take you to the hospital before you get a drink. Beverage service is horrible! They have 2 places for a bite. Foodies...nice menu...all fast stuff...but the portions are very good...and they have an upscale place - Parx...if you are in the mood for a good steak. I hope this helps...anymore questions about Parx, just ask. I'm here to help.

I would tell you to keep on driving and pass this place fast on your way to Atlantic City, but you already stated that you like to check out new places. I stopped going to this casino because the payouts are few and far between. You have to be very lucky to hit here. Yes you will have some people that will say that they like this casino, but please read the American Casino Guide and also check out the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, (google it) they list all of the casinos in PA and it shows you that Parx returns far less to the slot players than the other casinos in the state. It is definitely on my NEVER GO TO AGAIN List.

SlotstoIdrop - Just curious what you play? Most of what you said in your response, I agree with...however, I need to get some feedback on your slot machine selection if you don't mind sharing it with me. Thanks!

Couldn't agree with this statement more. We drive right by Parx, and it's on my never go to again list as well. My sister did get a handpay on the Quick Hits machine on a $0.60 bet, however that was right after they opened. The hits just haven't been coming there, and not for a lack of trying.

I play many penny machines such as Choy Sun Doa, 5 Dragons, Lucky Penny, WWII of course and the list goes on and on. I even tried $1 slots there and tried the $5 Wheel of Fortune slots also that are located in the so called "Xclusive" area with no luck. This place sucks up your money fast. I know as a slot player that the odds are not in my favor, but at least give me some playing time. This place doesn't offer that for me. They just take your money real fast and say "see you later sucker". This is one of the reasons I stopped going. I didn't even mention the type of people that frequent there, the people who have to sit next to their friend and take up a slot seat and the rude smokers. There aren't any clear signs indicating the smoking and non-smoking sections. Blah! One of the worst casinos I've visited

    Keno,
I did look into Shgarhouse and decided since they will be newly opened and we were going on a Saturday that finding a michine to play might be tough. Also they seemed to have a lot less machines than PARX. Another big bonus with stopping at PARX is that we will be able to avoid the Schuylkill Expressway. (scary!)

    SlotstoIdrop,
I can’t see PARX being any worse than The Meadows or Wheeling which have a 85% payback. I think it is all about luck, being at the right place at the right time. I was on Videopappy’s youtube channel and he seems to hit there all the time.
