    Default Sugarhouse Casino Phila

Fran and I went yesterday for the first time and were very impressed. Love the casino, its small but it is bright and Airy, lots of windows and natural light, we really like that, beautiful views of the river, Ben Franklin Bridge and the city.

As we entered the casino we were greeted by an employee with a card reader. You give him your drivers license, he swipes it, and instantly issues you a players card complete with pin ( the year of your birth ) and 20 slot dollars are deposited into your account. If you are diamond or Black Label you go to the desk and receive an upgrade to Cherry and an additional 30 slot dollars ( 50 Total ), 7 star and Titanium receive their Chocolate Card and 100 slot dollars. This is by far the most efficient players club sign up I have ever seen. The lines at the desk are minimal as most new sign ups are taken care of by the greeter. Believe you can sign up with any attendant on the floor.

They have two VP Bars, both comp drinks ( as of last Friday ), at one you can order food and they both show the football games on Sunday, as you know this is right up our alley. There is no FP VP but the schedules were not bad, we played 9/5 DDB which is about as good as it gets in PA. The machines were all Multi Game / Multi denom but they had the largest selection of games I have ever seen. You could play 3 hand, 5 hand and 10 hand vp, they had STP available, there was also keno and slots.

We played mostly at the bar in the Refinery which is a restaurant offering sandwiches and snacks and beautiful views of the river, they even have an outdoor dining area which we were able to take advantage of yesterday. We got killed playing there though.

We tried the other VP Bar on the floor, I still got killed, Fran did pretty good and recouped 1/2 of our losses.

The restaurant bar is non smoking, the bar on the floor is smoking. Casino was not very crowded, plenty of parking ( outdoor ), from our location we can get there in the same amt of time as it takes to get to Harrahs Chester, less than a 1/2 hour.

Did not check out the slots but everything is new, did see quite a few Quick Pay Machines outside the restaurant.

Overall, liked it better than Harrahs Chester and will return.

Thanks for the TR, sounds like a great little casino. Is it an independent or is it owned by one of the big guns MGM, Harrahs, etc?
