Default Why it's better to stay away from volatile machines...

Why it's better for your bankroll to stay away from volatile machines and stick to those with a higher hit frequency...

    1. You can play longer
    2. You end up having more money leftover
    3. You don't want to seriously injure others or the machine

Volatile Machines such as: Wizard of Oz, Buffalo, Wicked Riches, Price is right and i'm sure there are others.

You are honestly better off buying a lottery ticket. DISCLAIMER: Lottery is most likely less fun.

    Lottery ticket:

    $1- Top payout 175 million

    Volatile slot machine:

$1 NON PROGRESSIVE- Top payout roughly $5000.00

Even progressives usually max out at around 3 million with exception of megabucks. They also will cost you more than $1 a try.

    Speaking of which.

Shamus: Do you have available the odds of hitting a major wide area progressive?

I wonder how it compares to winning the lottery.

160 million? You also probably spend less on the lottery than on slot machines.

So what are you trying to tell us here, play the lotto and don't play slots? This is a slot machine forum, you know. What you are suggesting would be like me posting on a cruise ship forum and telling the members that it's cheaper to take a train.

Clearly you did not read the original post. I said players should avoid "VOLATILE" machines. NOT all slot machines. From the original post: "Why it's better for your bankroll to stay away from volatile machines and stick to those with a higher hit frequency..."

Hell I'm going to vegas in 4 days. I don't plan on playing the lotto there.. LOL

Thanks Gene, gamboholic's post made me sad, do I really need all that comparisons to a lottery ticket! Your answer made me smile - just saying thanks. Shirley
