I don't care for MGM. For one thing, last time we were there (in February) they had taken out ALL the quarter reel machines except for one bank of 6 or so. The remainder they have made $1 machines. I found a few penny machines -- I did really well on the Wiz of Oz transmissives at 3 AM -- but I was unimpressed. I mean, MGM is a 2 minute shuttle ride away from the largest slot machine casino in the entire universe (Foxwoods). The rooms at MGM were so small we had to about turn sideways to fit between the end of the bed and the dresser, lol. Nah...I think Foxwoods is a better fit for slot fans.
MGM has a great entertainment venue. Although, our night was soured because the event du noir was boxing and the crowd that came out was as you can imagine. Cops descended on the casino floor to round up troublemakers and it was very rowdy (and more than a little scary). The casino floor is quite small, and the public walkways surround it, so the drunk and rowdy crowd emptied onto the casino floor. :-( Of course, like the neighboring Foxwoods, one can hear the crowd clearly since most of the machines have the sound turned off. (Including most of the Wheel of Fortune machines -- can you imagine????) I was a Foxwoods die-hard but have given my business back to Mohegan, for now. They have machines WITH sound, and they have just as great a selection (including Star Trek and Star Wars). Last edited by MizSlotQueen; 07-03-2009 at 02:37 AM. |
