I know this has been discussed in here before, but I guess I need clarification.
Last night, Jonathan and I stopped for a couple hours at LuckyStar Casino in Concho, OK. (Took in $40 each, plus $10 freeplay for signing up each, walked out with over $200 total after 6 hours of play!) Not bad! We sometimes like to play Hot Hot Respin WMS games, like Zeus II and Griffin's Gate. There was a whole bank of them there, and we sat down to play our usual, 40 lines, 1 cent per line. Everyone up and down the row, as well as on the other side of the bank were hitting bonuses and respins left and right. In fact, the guy next to me hit the bonus every single time he got the bonus symbol on the first reel. The other 2 would line right up after that. I noticed that most everyone were playing 40 lines X 2, 3 or 4, except for us. We were doing pretty good at 40 X 1, but not as well as the others. So, my adventurous hubby decided to double his bet, and started hitting respins back to back, and bonuses up the yin yang, including retriggers on a few occasions. (I've never gotten a retrigger on these games.). ![]() My question (FINALLY!) is this: I thought that your chances of hitting the bonuses (and, in this case, garnering respins), were the same no matter how much you played. Am I mis-informed? It was on my mind all night long, and I'm so happy I can come in here and satisfy my curiousity! Thanks, Guys!

I'm speechless and unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. I don't think it's supposed to matter. I'm speechless because I can NEVER get WMS games to play with me like that!! Wow! Good going! My husband likes the respin games especially Griffin's Gate.

I wish I could answer you too. As far as I know it doesn't matter BUT recently here we have discussed and kind of came to the conclusion (I think) that people are getting more action on lower bets. Like Ang..I can't get those games to play with me either. Especially those HHSRespins........ gosh I hate those games!

I remember one time when I sat down at a bank of hot hot repin slots before and was playing 40 - 1x while people around me were playing 3x-5x and they were doing great hitting bonuses and respins left and right. Especially the lady next to me playing Hearts of Venice, she was racking it up in credits, I think when I left she was up to $700.
I still believe it's pure randomness, since it wouldn't make any sense otherwise unless the game actually stated that you would get more chances of repins if you bet higher. I just think I sat on a dud, which was the very reason the slot I sat on was empty to begin with. I probably would have just lost my money faster, but who knows.

Been there done that. most of the banks of machines here, people just play 30 x1 I have seen people play 2x 3x and 5x before and blow through a couple hundred dollars while I'm hitting on my 30 x1
To be honest with you I have tried it and will never EVER do it again!!! Last year took my share of the tax check and went off on my adventure. I played reels o dublin, 100 spins 1x, didn't bonus once so I did 100 spins 2x still no bonus... What the heck, I always hit at least one in 200 spins, So I went all out. 100 spins at 5x. some good wins but no bonuses. gave up went slot hopping. An hour or so later played the same one for 1x within 47 or 48spins I can't remember, I bonused 5 times and retriggered each time. Finally got $44 more than what I had invested the whole night. (thank god!!) It would have been totally awsome if I hadn't kept remembering how much I had lost in it before... So I am convinced that it is purely random. There is a young oriental guy that used to play them non stop. every friday nite that I went, he was always there, playing 30 x 10!!! Only saw him bonus once after $500 in and it was a whopping $135!! He played that down to zilch and then left the game. Last edited by MikeyB; 02-06-2010 at 09:45 PM. |

Thanks everyone.. and Deb, that was exactly why I was perplexed all night. I thought we had determined that it was the lower bets that tended to win. I guess it was just that those machines were hot last night, not that I'm complaining!
Lately I have been avoiding the WMS machines for the most part (totally Deb's influence - only kidding!), because I seem to have much better luck on the Aristocrat ones. Interestingly enough, the only Aristocrat machines they had were the older ones- Tiki Torch, Geisha (thinking of you, Shamus!). They even had the old 5-reel Flames of Olympus! |

I don't believe its random, its all about how much money the machine is taking in. If these guys weren't bonusing or getting wins they wouldn't bet high or max anymore, there isn't any fun in betting high or max but not getting anything back, JMO

It seriously has NOTHING to do with how much money at machine takes in!
