Default Quick trips are fun!

On my way home from college (Brockport, NY) My mom, (great) Aunt and I decided to take a detour to Batavia Downs gaming. We've never been there before, and all new members get $15 in free play. Deciding to take $100 out of the ATM, I was happy to blow it trying some slots at the new place. Finger Lakes has been taking my money baddddd lately (more on that later).

Started at Coyote Moon with a $20. It paid great! Hit several bonuses with one retriggering for 15 spins, something I never see at Finger Lakes. I cash out $40 after 30 minutes, quite happy. Slot hop for awhile, getting some playtime but no good hits. Until...

I sit down at a "Run for your money" Machine... they took out these machines ages ago from Finger Lakes. With custom chairs, these are more than likely the exact same machines. It's a video slot kind of like wheel of fortune, where the bonus round triggers a top wheel. Top prize is $50 x line bet. I stick a $20 in, betting the max (15 lines, x 5, .75 bet). A couple small bonuses get me going, for 10-20 each. Then, I get 5 of the second-best symbol, for $50! Was up to $120! Cruising. Gave my aunt a $20 because she was getting low.

About 20 minutes later, I hit for a line win of $25, which was great. On the VERY NEXT SPIN, I got the 5 symbols from before - another $50! I freaked out a little, and a few people saw my win. Self note - don't freak out so much. I turned $20 into $200 and cashed out.

I did some more slot hopping, my bankroll dwindling to $160. I move to a "CATS" machine, and manage to get 9 (10 max) Leopards for $23 on a .60 bet. I can honestly say I have never seen the combination before, so I was happy.

For my last machine of the night, I move over to Wolf Run 2c, bankroll: 160 (another 20 in Cats before I left!). I almost immediately hit for 22.60, which was nice. As my Mom was urging me to cash out the $170 ticket, I say give me a few more hits... sure enough, I hit for $34.00, in a nice combo I had never seen before, and cashed out $200.

Started: $100. $15 in freeplay. $5 (!!!) in ATM fees. $120 investment.
Walked out with: $200, even.

I was happy! Thrilled, even, after about a dozen losing sessions at Finger Lakes. It almost makes me wonder if they "turned down" the payout percentages at Finger Lakes. When I first started going there 2 and a half years ago, my money seemed to last longer - I could safely go on $120-140 and play for 5-6 hours. Now? I lose $60/hr. Easy. Sometimes I lose $300 in a span of four hours, and call it quits because even *I* know when it's futile. I honestly cannot recall my last winning session at Finger Lakes... Makes you wonder, you know?

Way to go! Angi and I were just talking tonight about how it seems that when you have a modest bankroll you do much better than when you go with a healthy bankroll. I think I should change my strategy a bit. Look how great you did and played for a long time and came out ahead! That is truly awesome!

Hey nice wins.. I don't think I have "quick trip" in my vocabulary. I have many times gone thinking I would simply spend an hour or two.... but you get a few hits like yours and I know I would want to go and "reinvest" that 80 of winnings for another few hours ... A+ on the willpower.

Quick trips are fun, I'm considering one for this morning, I got $50 and it's burning a hole in my pocket! Maybe just a little fix before next Thursday? Hmmm.....

Sounds like a fun and profitable detour! Congratulations on those wins, and by the way, that was very nice of you to share with your aunt. Maybe it was karma that the good spins kept on coming!

Congrats on your winnings AND TAKING IT home....I have had good luck lately but have managed to blow everything looking for the elusive "big" jackpot before the trips up...so good going on the self control.
