Don't ever let anyone tell you penny slots are a waste of time. Hubby's best friend's mother plays pennies almost exclusivley and one day we were all out together and I was roaming and walked up behind her. She started with $20 and picked a machine and sat down.
In half an hour she cashed out over $100 and took $20 of it to the next machine. An hour later it was another $100 plus cashout and on to her 3rd machine. 10 minutes in it really started to feel good so she started upping the play a lil each spin and then WHAM! She hit the progressive (til then I didn't even know what THAT was) jackpot on max bet and from a bet of what? 15cents or something she got a $15,000 win. I was standing there with my jaw in my hand so it wouldn't hit the floor. AND - I am told she hits one every other month or so like that, although I was only there to see that one. |

Yes I agree there are winners. What I was trying to make the point on is that people think they are only "playing" pennies when in actual fact they are playing much more than that. Like 31 lines for .05 cents each definitely is not playing pennies.
I congratulate the winners and yes sometimes I do play the pennies but mostly I play "Let It Ride" or .25 cent regular slots.

That's true for any of the slots now though. With the electronic machines you play for credits so no one thinks about how much they are playing per spin. It isn't like the old coin machines where you carried buckets of coins and had to feed them all in before you pulled the handle.

I never have any luck with the penny machines. I put a $100 into one before, and didn't cash out with anything. Another time, it was $50.

Of course they pay. They have to pay something However, to win the top jackpot on a penny machine, you have to bet the maximum amount. Most of the penny machines I've encountered require 2-3 dollars (200-300) credits per spin. Since it is a known fact that the penny machines odds are worse than higher denominations, why not just play the 25,50 or 1 slots? I have put a 20 in a penny slot and sat there for 30 minutes playing a few credits at a time. Yes, I won a few hundred pennies here and there (2-5 dollars) but eventually, it took my 20 bucks. I have also stuck a 5 in to a penny machine and hit max bet and won 200 bucks. I just think that overall they are a waste of time, and you are not betting 15 cents per spin of you are winning huge jackpots on the pennies. The poster who saw someone win 15k with 15 cents. I'd like to know where this macine is, because I have been in alot of casinos and I have never seen a penny machine that only requires 15 coins to hit the top prize.
