The total winnings paid out on Native American Megajackpots wins has now surpassed the $1 billion mark. The $2.5 million win on the Wheel of Fortune special edition slot machine at Morongo Casino, Resort and Spa in Southern California was the winning pull that pushed the total over that mark. Megajackpots was launched in Nevada casinos in 1986 by IGT, but they only became available in Native American casinos in 1994. Since then there have been 1650 wins, with 250 players becoming millionaires.
