Default Winner this weekend at the Borgata (Atlantic City)

I had a great time at the Borgata in Atlantic City this past weekend! I arrived late Friday (a 3.5 hour drive from DC) evening and the first machine I was on (Double Jackpot w/ "Quick Hits" machine) hit the top prize after putting in around $150. Top prize was $10,000! That was the biggest jackpot I've ever won over the last 4 years I've played slots. The last biggie was a few weekends ago at the Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls where I hit the top prize jackpot on the Big Times Pay machine (matching 3 symbols - unbelievable, never seen anybody do that!) which paid out $6,000 (and untaxed in Canada!).

Since I was staying at the Borgata until Sunday (comped room), I couldn't stop myself from playing (yeah, I have a gambling problem). I was chipping away at my $10k having little luck on roulette and blackjack and so I continued on with slots. The slots were tight...I put in $600 into a tight Blazing 7 machine with no mixed 7s at all...ugh that drive me nuts as the progressive payout was $1k. I gave up and moved on to other machines with little luck. By Saturday afternoon, the 10k winnings dwindled to $7000. I decided to go to the $5 slot area and played a Triple Lucky machine. After putting in less than $200 (2 credits per spin), I hit a Red 7, Red 7, and bam...a Triple Lucky symbol! that jackpot was $4,500 and put me back up.

With just 1 day left at AC, I had to play more lol. Had a quick bite to eat and continued playing (again, no luck with any table games and took a hit). Moved on to some multi-denom slots in the far back of the floor and played $5slots (took a lost of $500) and played a huge $1 MonteCarlo that caught my attention (another $600 lost) before moving on...if you're at Borgata and see the giant MonteCarlo (it's the only one in that smoking area), BEWARE! It rarely hit matching bars and I can't believe I played that long thinking it was going to hit soon. The night was rough and I went to bed.

Sunday morning came and I was at $7k with my initial jackpot winning. I had to leave at 11am so I got up at 8am and had a quick comped buffet breakfast. Decided to play another $600 on black jack / roulette and lost. It was the last hour before departing for home and I decided to give the $5 slot floor another try. Bells were ringing on 3 machines in the room when I walked in (as usual in that room) so I felt some luck in the air. I plopped myself on the 5 Times Pay machine and put in $100 hitting the single credit button (nothing!). Then I took out my last $100 in my pocket (the rest of my money was in check form) and at $65 remaning, I saw the symbols (BlueBar-7, BlueBar-7, and bam...5 Times pay!). Ughh..it was with mixed emotions...I was thrilled to hit the $1250 jackpot but knew if I played the max credit (3), I would have gotten $3750..(yeah yeah, poor baby!). I took the money and hit the road home!

So overall, I net around $8,500 for the entire weekend trip...it will go towards lots of gambling losts from 2006 for sure :-). 2 of my top 3 jackpots ever were at the Borgata this weekend which is odd since I've played there a number of times and have found the slots to be tight (the comped rooms and food keep me coming back). My lesson, head to the $5 denom room if playing slots and hit the single credit button if you're ready to take it a notch up from playing max credit on $1 slots but not ready to do max credit on a $5 machine....not quite ready to play $10, $25, or the $100 machines...someday though, hopefully :-).

Hope you enjoyed reading. It's my first post here.

Congratulations on the wins. Borgata has been known to have some of the loosest machines in Atlantic City. I've won several jackpots there--though not as big as the ones you won.
