I have hit 3 fairly big jackpots this year...
Twice I hit $1,000 on a Wheel of Fortune dollar machine
Once I hit $1300 on a Big Times Pay dollar machine

I always put in $100 when I sit down at a machine. If I go 5-10 in a row without a win, I move on to another machine.

But I just read about 2 winners who only put in $20 and $40...

What's everybody elses slot strategy?

I take anywhere from $100-200 per trip. I play $20 per machine at 4-5 spins. If I get no good winnings or none at all I cash out and move on. I've won several thousand dollars in the past 9-10 months. I once won a JP of $3260, JP of $750, $1000 Fort Knox nickel machine, $900 playing deal or no deal, 671 playing Garfield nickel machine. A total of about $2000 playing various nickel machines and $308 at a quarter machine.

I'm hoping for the 3+mill Megabucks

I like to play the nickel machines. I usually play all lines, with a minimum bet (no more than 20 line), unless I am up a substantial amount ... then I will bet 2x or 3x on a payline.

This year (2007), I won $750 playing IGT's Phone Tag (45 cents bet) (5 WILDS on a payline = 15000 credits), $500 playing IGT's Price Check (45 cents bet) (5 WILDS = 10000 credits), $500 on WMS SEAL SLIDE ($1 bet) (5 PREMIUM SYMBOLS during bonus round = 10000 credits), $950 IGT Enchanted Unicorn Reel Slots (45 cents bet)(Lion Head and Princess, 3 Unicorns, Lion Head and Princess).

My largest slot win was a 90 cent bet on Konami's Hot Dawgz for 42000 nickels ... 5 WILDS = 20000 times a line bet of 2x ... and the WILDS matched other stuff as well! That's $2100 on 90 cents.

Keep in mind ... with a bankroll of $200 total ... the object of the game is to win the big jackpot --- as you can see above, the big payouts typically pay from 5000-to-1 to 20000-to-1 ... that means the odds of winning that jackpot are much worse than that. You are better to have more "kicks at the cat" -- more spins equals more chances at the big one.

You just have to be happy when you hit the big one ... and you only bet the minimum per line.

Curiously, I have never been close to hitting 5 premium symbols on ATRONIC games ... has anyone else done that? It seems more difficult than North American machines.

I beleive the games are completely random. Whether I am on a huge winning or losing streak, I will stay on a game I have fun with. My favourites are:

For games which are hard to find, I enjoy the traditional reel machines, "Winning Steak" and "Enchanted Mermaid".

It depends on what kind of game and denomination I'm playing. I like to play reel slots with bonuses like Wheel of Fortune and Top Dollar machines. But for any general 3 Reel slots, I would only invest about 50 times the max bet. So when I play the $5 WoF or Top Dollar, I would invest $500 max. I would cash out when I have doubled my bankroll at that machine. If I am above my goal, I will usually try to push it to as far as it can go and quitting when I've doubled/tripled my bankroll. Personally, I found more success at $5 and higher machines. So on any given trip, I would bring about $2500, just to have the luxury to play multiple machines if one isn't working out.

I know a guy in another forum.......and his signature states...."The only way to win at slots......is OWN the casino." There is so much truth to that!

My strategy is try to get up a bit on quarters and dollar slots....then take only the winnings into the high stakes room for a few spins.....sometimes I win.......sometimes I lose...... I am probably up about $1000.00 so far this year....but that could change in a couple of bad outings.....LOL.
